I've been to this one in Taipei: http://www.akkadi.net/ Hopefully you can find the address on the site somewhere... I bought a load of Butterfly and Donic shirts there, for under AUD$15 each! They've got a nice range of Darker blades there as well...

Rok, thanks. I saw there is a Hurricane King blade selling for US $128.8 plus shipping, last one. Was about to order it until I remember that I will receive another blade from purger next week.

Anyone want a Hurricane King blade, go for it.

The one from purger is too good to miss and didn't cost me much and I don't play with the blade I traded with him anyway. $128.80 plus postage is still a lot of money, especially now.

I went to Akkadi four days ago. They actually have two shops in Taipei, one behind the Banqiao metro station (blue line) and one on (I think) Nanjang Road close to Guting (red line).

http://www.urbanrail.net/as/taip/taipei.htm

I didn't go to the one close to Guting as it is (apparently) very small and has limited stuff on display (but full range web range in the backroom storage).

The one close to Banqiao is resonably large and has a lot of stuff on display. Like Haggis said it is good for Donic and Darker, but covers a lot of Armstrong and Kokutaku penhold product lines as well which I suppose interests you in particular.

I don't know the exact address for the one in Guting, neither do I know it for the one in Banqiao.

The Banqiao one is however very easy to find. It is located about 300-400 meters behind the metro station, just next to the police station. The police station is clearly marked on the exit maps at the metro station so you should have no probs finding it at all.

Rokphish suggested this one: http://shop.ilpp.idv.tw/
I spent a few days in Tainan where the store is located, but as as far as I know this one is online only.

I didn't hunt around for other shops, but heard that both Kaohsiung and Taichung has stores. I have no details on them as I didn't ask, I am afraid.

Sorry to say, Rokphish, but your friend probably didn't leave Taipei during his time in Taiwan. Sure Taiwan is a small island, but to accomplish a tour of the island in a few hours you'd have to rent whatever vessel ET came to Earth in.

Just to encircle the island without leaving the main road would take the better part of a day and that doesn't even begin to "cover the whole taiwan area".

Anyway, if he said the food is great and the people friendly you can trust him on that. ;)

As far as I have experienced, Taiwanese and Indonesians are just about the friendliest people on this Earth. And they smile a lot :)
