Really happy with this long pimple, recently ordered perhaps my 15th sheet of neptune/955 long pip, and like the P1-R I keep up on going back to it!!!!

You might say it's "the poor man's P1-R", and at only $6 a sheet it's very affordable....

Quite grippy, and quite slow, suitable for chopping, perhaps better played with a thin sponge underneath as it offers more variety on spin.

I couldn't agree more with you. Perhaps I just would add besides that this is a nice LP if you like to play the hit/block game and chop/push occasionally.

Yeah great with active blocks and hitting! It's probably a little faster than the more expensive pimples, but it's probably the best value long pip out.

Thanks Quelis.

I got a sheet of Neptune on one of my two LP Combo bats. Will anyone ride a camel all the way over to my camp to have a hit? (There is a guy who raises camels right outside our camp - real cool) I will make my way down to Balt/DC late this month and maybe Bogeyhunter can put up a vid with me training LP Chops (I only brought the Globe 979 with me) / Inverted attacking w/twiddling.

I had too put new rubbers on last night, and I was using red Neptune BH and changed to black.

First glance I noticed it was more gripper than the red,
the red was a little smoother pips while the black was more ribbed.

I tried it out today and it felt the same, but had more control and was still very slow, I was able to chop every ball in without landing long.

Really happy with this one :D

I did 3 hours training today and no games, just learning my new setup and getting comfortable with it, even though I didn't change the brands the new rubbers felt really good. At first I had to compensate with the extra grip because my almana was new, but the neptune felt even better than the older one.

Thank you Alex and Luna

Monkey, I assume you have it in Ox still. Have you tried Neptune with sponge at all? Black with sponge could be interesting! 8)

I never used to use ox and started off with 1mm then moved down to 0.5mm, I stumbled on to ox when I noticed I was the only pimple in Sydney to use sponge (joking, but it really was the case in competitions) so I settled on this thickness and learned to play with it. Before that I was using it in 0.5mm on a U4 and also a allround classic.

Re Neptune OX on a balsa blade,

I had a Player say to me "what the $%$# are you using"...I was getting good reversal and wobbly balls etc, and in the end he was just smashing his balls anywhere to get the game finished...

I believe he went home and slit his wrists and sat in a bath of warm water...lol...I have not seen him since.....he had previously beaten me 2 times with his topspin loops so Neptune enabled me to stay in the game.

He may be playing at another club.
