Austria's team chef should consider: Amy, his #3, won 3:0 against world #20(!), whereas his #2 lost 0:3 against the same opponent. They would have had a chance only if they had risked something. If you consider world rankings, only surprise (which Amy is for a lot of world class women!) could have helped. So, his/her formation was chicken-hearted from the very beginning and reduced any outsider chance for Austria! :punch:
At least, Amy will climb a little from her rank 90. Furthermore, the Germans might for a moment think about whom they let go.

I put some screen captures from her singles match in my blog.

Amy beats Li Qiangbing head to head. It should be obvious to the Austrian decision-maker that Amy's better regardless of what the dubious ITTF rankings say.

As for the Germans, I think Amy's stronger than their #3 Silbereisen for sure. Too bad Germany vs. Austria never happened for the women, like it is happening for the men tomorrow.

I just watched the replay of Amelie's match... I love it! Anyone here knows exactly what her setup is? I'd like to try it.

I am so proud of her that she worked hard through the FLPs ban to adapt to the anti. It's not an easy thing to do by all means.

At last report she uses:

Dr. Neubauer Combination Effect blade
Dr. Neubauer Grizzly Anti with ABS sponge

She goes back and forth on the forehand between Dr. Neubauer Domination 1.5mm (inverted) and Dr. Neubauer Diamant 1.5mm (medium pips)
