I think it would be nice if we could collect all available films from that event in a single thread.
I am not sure in what order the film chunks have been placed at this site, but it seems that most finals can be viewed there:
http://pingistv.se/index/30?eventid=2272

The 2nd film at 181:50 starts the semifinal between Saive against Källberg. It is finished in the first film at 225:25. Before that (in the first film) is a quick match with Appelgren :) .

At 17:30, film chunk #9, there seem to be a final in men's 40-49 between Saive and Olijnek (3-0).

Thanks Def-attack!

Those links all point to the same page... where can I see the other 'chunk' of video?

On my bowser there are 10 different thumbnails in a horizontal row where you can scroll. But they all have the same name. Try another browser?

My friend is starting to compile his videos from WVC, here is the first match from his group when he had to start against Philippe Saive. I don't know how good Philippe has been, but he was ranked 42 on the first world ranking that is available at ITTF.com (january 2001) and 117 when he was last seen on the ranking (january 2010).

Anyway, here is the match:

My friend Lennart said that Saive was a very nice person, who gladly talked about his equipment and Appelgren's lost in group games (he did not know who Lu was or that he had won SOC back in 1977). He played with a very old blade that had a picture of his coach on the handle (the coach was there with saive) and he used Andro rubbers. He also said that it was the first time for a very long time he had to act umipire :) .

More matches from my friend Lennart's group:

And here is a part of a match between 87 year old Swede Rune Forsberg and 100 year old Russian Alexander Kaptarenko (the oldest to compete in WVC):

thanks - I've noticed I mostly win in 3 games, or lose in 5 - I guess weighing close to 120kg may have something to do with that!

Thanks for contributing! You've got a powerful FH attack, especially against backspin and far to your FH-side. What did you use on BH in the third video (haven't watched the others yet)?

Were there any more forum memebers at this competition? I will be allowed to compete next time, but I think New Zeeland will be a little too far away ;( .
