Not having much luck searching myself, but does anyone have any information/footage of Ma Te?

There's very little go to on. He's ranked #61 on ratingscentral and he took a game off ZJK in the Olympic warm up match (ZJK, Ma Long, WH vs. Fang Bo, Yan An, Shang Kun, and Ma Te).

It's likely he's the best chopper in the world since he's currently on the Chinese National Team and the chopper they selected to help the men train for the Olympics. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who'd love to see how good this guy is...

Perhaps I just don't understand ratings in general or Ratings Central in particular, but it's a little difficult to see how they rate Ma Te as #61 in the world. For a start, according to Ratings Central, he last played in the Chinese Championships in August last year. There he finished with a rating of 2862+/-56. This gives him a lower ranking than Adrien Mattenet (ITTF ranked #106), Zhai Chao (ITTF ranked #427), Li Yang (ITTF ranked #146), and Shang Kun (ITTF ranked #188).

If anyone knows the Chinese characters for Ma Te, a google search might turn up something. Also, maybe http://bbs.chinatt.com (formerly known as bokett.com) might have something.

My chinese training partner/coach did some searching on the internet and found some stuff. Whether it is true or not, he is not sure, but it is more information that we had before. Supposedly he uses a Darker 7 ply blade with some tsp pip rubber on his bh and skyline3 on his forehand. He is still very young, which explains why there are not many videos of him. A friend of his that played him said that his spin variation is very good and that he was using a long pimple rubber when they played. Which points to p1r or P3A???? Anyone able to get info???

Ma Te vs Ma Long Olympic warm up

Ma Te has also qualified for the second round of the Chinese Team Trials for WTTC 2013. They are doing some type of online poll to decide some of the players. Please vote for him, he needs all the help he can get with the number of great Chinese player these days.

Nice player! I love the early and generous backswing for his BH chop. Also, he looks to be very smart tactically, especially early in the rally.
