Interesting packaging. So it's NOT vacuum packed, like the other Yinhe rubbers?

I've got some of the more expensive 729s (the result of that 50% sale recently) - this packaging is reminiscent of some of those.

No, it isn't vacuum packed, but there is 2 x clear sleaves

It took me around 5 balls before getting the ball onto the table. First five balls, my first touch made the ball go 1meter off the table (I normally use H3 or TG3 on the forehand).
I had doubts that this is a 39 deg sponge, feels more like 36 deg. Maybe it got to do with the factory tuned sponge.

Interesting that it's factory tuned and NOT vacuum packed.

I'm sure over 50% of factory tuned rubbers in the market are not vacuum packed.
Maybe this percentage is much higher
How is that interesting?

Tuning is done w/ chemicals with some degree of volatility, and most rubber is not used immediately after manufacture.

I dunno - most of the (Chinese) factory tuned sheets I've come across are vacuum packed (or at least, sealed in a thick plastic envelope). I suppose you could make a case that Tensors and Tenergy and what not are "factory tuned" as well..

Does this rubber come with variable sponge thickness, say, 1.8? Blocking is a big part of my game, so, given the great catapult effect you spoke of, I don't know that I'd want a thick sponge. Thanks for your excellent review!

The plastic sheet on the back (on the sponge) is also designed to keep the tuning in the sponge... perhaps this is enough, and vacuum sealing is an over kill. ;) I also noticed that many so-called 'vacuum sealed' packages are not actually seal at all... the often have gaps on the sides. :o

Come to think of it - a lot of non-tuned rubber (even ultra-CHEAP stuff like Yinhe 9000 "cut sheets") are "vacuum packed" as well. Seems to go with the brand. All Palio stuff (including Yasaka but not including Generic Dragon), all Sanwei stuff, all Haifu stuff... and until now, I thought all Yinhe stuff.

From retail version - It only comes in Max sponge size with options from the seller to order 38 deg, 39 deg or 40 deg.

With previous Yinhe rubbers - if one does order "bulk", we are able to ask them to make specific requirements (sponge hardness or size). However, I am not certain if this is the case with Big Dipper

I have shared my feedback to Yinhe, and they stated it is a Chinese style rubber, and that I shouldn't have so much catapult effort.
I will test the 40 deg too (I tested the 39 deg). I also feel maybe the pre tuned sponge is in work, and maybe once it looses some tune, it will be better (not so bouncing). Never the less, I'm happy with it, as it feels like a Provincial H3 at a price of Commerical H3 (and black one is blue sponge - even better :) )

Here is a video of me testing the Big Dipper - with around 5 hours of usage (mostly feeding multiballs)
You can see a lot of balls I am still hitting off - this was much better than the first few hits (90% going off)
I am rusty though - first attacking drill for a long long long long long time :)
You can see my student (who can block better when I am using H3) is struggling with the incoming spin.

Yeah, many tensors/esn rubbers are factory tuned and don't have sealed or vacuum pack.
So my rubber cabinet stinks lol

Regarding the new Yinhe rubbers - moon speed and big dipper, both have extra layer of clear packet by the rubber level, while moon speed outskirt is vacuum sealed - i feel that is too over - add unnecessary weight, waste, cost etc

Anything not sealed is going to have a timer on it from the factory.

Also "tuned" is not a regulated word so it's possible some don't have much tuner (effect) added anyway.

Thanks for the video ZApenholder

You certainly seem to get some good speed out of it!

Big Dipper sponge with adhesive layer overleaf.

MY INQUIRE:
Is the sticky layer hard / easy to pill off from sponge ??
Is it posssible to remove the layer undamaged?

Thanks.

It's tricky to pull off by itself, but if you put a layer of VOC-free glue on and then peel it off, it takes the factory layer off with it.
