That looks like a blunt shipping damage and not necessarily the seller not informing you. However it's still the seller's responsibility to have reinforced the edge with perhaps more bubblewrap or even cardboard.

Violin - Acoustic - Tenor speedwise. Tenor should work better with the new ball.

I use Xiom I-sure for practicality. That little bottle with sponge make sealing easy for me, although not without its down side. Not sure what you mean by timing.

The instructions on the bottle says 12 hours to dry. Repeat 1-2 times for maximum protection. That is 2-3 layers.

I usually give it 24 hours minimum before using. I only do one layer.

no problem... that small bottle of 25 ml could seal 27 blades: head, side, and handle. So it could seal a whole bunch of blades if you only seal the heads.

How much would you spend to get a piece of history?

A bit expensive, but fortunately it plays a lot better than the regular non Rio DHS poly, though nowhere near Nittaku Premium. Not that you want to play regularly with it anyway, it would be a buy and keep in the storage kind of thing.

ps. still not sure how to get rid of the wide space at the bottom of the insta photo, kind of annoying.

Musicfreak0 mentioned at another thread that I was 1 post short of 2000 posts. That gave me an idea to post something special for the 2000th posts here. Hope you guys like it and could be of some use somewhat.

STIGA CHINA VERIFICATION SYSTEM as easy as 1-2-3... (somewhat)

One
Go to Stiga China's website here http://www.stigasports.cn/ and click on the top right link as shown below.

Image

Two
Verify which sticker you have on the product you want to verify.

Image

There are three options: old one shown at the bottom part, the newer one shown on the top left, and the newer one shown at the top right. If you do happen to get the newer one on the left, and you can't read Chinese, you're screwed! Why? Because some goofballs :swear: decided to make use of Chinese captcha instead of numbers/alphabets. You will need to get someone to read/translate the captcha for you and the solution, in the photo shown the captcha shown is: 5+6= (they even mixed the use of Simplified and Traditional Chinese in the same captcha!) :headbang: :headbang:

Now what's the different between the two newer ones? As far as I know (not 100% confirmed): the one on the right is for blades, the one on the left for everything else. Why do I make that assumption? Because on the right one, you will see product serial numbers (shown in Purple color) below the scratch part. This product number should match with the number on the box of the blade as shown in the photo below.

Image

I purchased blade case and it matches the authentication on the newer left one without the product serial number, just the scratch part.

A side note: Stiga China's implementation on the product serial number is half measure in my opinion. I would just say this is a cost cutting measure(read: being a scrooge).
They (all brands) should follow Butterfly in this regard, product serial numbers etched on the blade and printed directly on the box, not stickers.
Three
Okay, let's start. Use this blade for example. Scratch-scratch-scratch...

Image

Do the 1-2-3 on the top right one.

Image

Four
If you are careful in entering both numbers and captcha then you should see this. This is what you should get if your product is genuine!

Image

Copy paste the result to Google Translate and you should see the result in your language. Of course they would botch up the translation, but you should see something in the line of authentic/genuine wording.

Image

You're done! Don't forget to seal your Stiga blade, less you'll be sorry. You've been warned! 8)

Five
Now what happens if you re-check the numbers again? You would see this result as shown below.

Image

Check the time, verify if this was you checking previously. If not, you could ask the seller if they did it before and ask whether they could provide the screenshot of the first result.

Image

What I usually do is that, right before I send the product to the buyer, I would do this verification, make a screenshot, and then send it to the buyer. That way the buyer and see that the product has been cleared/passed authentication, and that the buyer has the documentation if later he's selling it to another person.

Six
Now what happens if you get a fake one? Let's do a try out. I put in the same number as before but change the last digit, and see what happens next.

Image

You will see this, if you entered a number that's not in the system (read: fake). Or, hopefully, you just mistype and entered wrong digit somewhere.
Recheck and verified again.
If you still get this result, you're reaping some bad karma... Ha!

Additional stuff
Sometimes you'll see a couple of these:

Server is busy, try again later
Image

Entered wrong captcha, get your glasses and try again Grandpa!
Image

That's all folks!

Let me know if you want to post them elsewhere.
Do check out and follow my instagram rokphishtt to see photos of blades and stuff... 8) 8) 8)

I did a review years ago on Ignito, which is one of the Strato's mates in the series.

Still haven't gotten a chance to be separated from Fb2... :P
