Hi All

I wonder whether the sealant needs to be applied to the blade every time the rubber is changed.

No. You apply it once before you put the rubber on, and then you shouldn't need to do it again. Lots of threads on the forum about how it's done and what to use, I use oil-based polyurethane varnish applied with a paper towel (what some people call a "kitchen roll"), as per Kee's method. Just one thin layer, all over the bat, including the edge and the handle. Wipe off as much as you can with the same towel.
