Hey Amir,

What would you say your general strategy is with the anti? Do you count on placement with spin reversal to win most the points?

Asking because when I use the glanti, most people don't use a ton of spin and very few are even real heavy top spin players. So when they use low spin, I can place it around the table somewhat slowly and short, but they usually have time to reach it at least. Whereas I think with the LP rubbers or more grippy anti, I can hit with a bit more speed on top of the hard angles -- meaning they won't reach the ball in time to make any kind of decent shot, or contact at all!

Basically the spin reversal aspect of it doesn't seem to play a huge role for me (except on some serves) -- whereas at your level, I think the heavy incoming spin really helps you?

Just wondering if I should keep with the mega-block style or perhaps go to something like anti-speed...

i generally try to put the opponent under pressure by moving him and attacking with the anti (especially against backspin) to force him to raise/lift the ball so that i go over to attack mode by either twiddling and playing the short pimple backhand hit or short pimples on the forehand shot to make a direct point. the spinreversal is important in between when he manages to loop and i have to block...the fact that the block either becomes short or has reversal is important so that he cannot make a direct winner loop again, so that he will either lift or chop and i can go back into attack mode/preperation for short pimples again.

the best thing would be for you to upload both a video with you playing slick anti..you can also send it to me via PN then i can share my 5 cents with you ;)
