In light of the discussion a few days ago about the "Frustration" factor, how about a discussion on the levels of risk you're taking with different setups. For example, Dtecs on Gergely would make it a high risk combo, at least in my opinion. I'm playing with Fibercomp with Dornenglanz right now which I would describe as Med/Med+. Obviously, low risk is a touch/placement oriented setup while high risk is more about speed. I'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks |

Gotta sneak this in quickly, apologies to super users for going before you...running out the door for Sat night dinner at diner. My cheap high risk setup: bomb 729 + XP 1.8 + 755 OX + rubber cement + nothing else like seal or epoxy Super fast and very very high risk good for attacking and as the other player said, "its doing something strange..." |

Golfers Phil Michelson and Arnold Palmer (in his day) play a "high risk" game. They have the level of skill necessary to play any style. Based on their level of expertise they decide whether they should roll the dice when faced with an opportunity to score. If you have the skill it seems to me that "high risk" would have more to do with strategy and not equipment. I could use an off + blade with thick sponged D.Tec to attack and at my level that would be way above my pay grade. It wouldn't be high risk it would just be stupid. Assuming the sole purpose is winning a match....if I don't have the skills or physical attributes to chop is using a Joo-style chopping set up "high risk" or is it simply delusional? If you're just having fun knocking the ball around and winning isn't the primary purpose then of course anything goes. |
