I didn’t know they were bust, that’s a shame. I am trying to improve my attacking, using Hellfire. Getting better, but not sure it’s the best choice for predominantly attacking. Have you tried any MP’s?

Nice hitting. You are playing the game I hope to play . . . I've found that cat-n-mouse long pipping won't get me to 2000. I haven't beaten anyone over 1900 using LPs defensively. Time to smack attack! You inspired me.

MOG1111,
Are you using Giant Dragon Meteorite Red/OX on your BH in the vid? If so, are you still using it or have you found an LP that performs better? I've been using Grass DtecS Red//OX for several years, but have found it attack limited. I have a training partner who smacks the crap out of the ball using Wallest, which is not really intended for hitting, but . . . . you know . . . can't always go by the manufacturers specs. ;-) I also notice you list the JO shape blade as your weapon. I found a Donic version on clearance. Any thoughts? I almost PM'd this to you, but thought a public response might be more interesting for all. ;-)

In that video i am using a stiga infinity and i meteorite, but i can hit with most long pimples with between 0.5 and 0.6 sponge like that
i think allround premium and actually sword scylla are even better for hitting

also hitting is easier with a hard balsa blade but i do not like balsa on fh.

i have been using short pimples for a year and have just switched to Nittaku SP AX which are really really good for me i think

i find lp to inhibiting if people just serve long fast chop to them although my results sre often better with lp i dont like the way they make me play

i could always hit with lp, i think its just my style, it came naturally, only thing is dtec s are much nastier in the passive, chop and active blocking than the lps i use, but its finding a tredae off i guess

i only need lp for return serve assistance, straight blocking and hitting, i dont do anything else with them

Thanks so much for the detailed response. What would you recommend for me out of the vast array of LP madness? In your experience, was Allround Premium and Sword Scylla the best of the bunch for hitting? If you went back to LP, which would you slap on your blade? It's funny that you mention not liking the way you play with them even though you play well. That's almost exactly what I tell people about my combination game with DtecS on BH. I use for serve receiving, which is great, but the more I rely on it during a rally the less I like my game. I can win fairly easily up to about 1700 level, especially against intermediate loopers, so I get a bit lazy and just chop block and bump the ball around the table . . . not really winning points, but waiting for opponent to lose points. I much prefer taking points with aggression, and I don't think my current style of play will get me to the next level. I need to control the game. I'm not willing to give up serve receiving at this time, i.e., going to SP, so . . . . here I am . . . . looking for an LP that I can be more aggressive with.

Any idea which Sword Scylla?

In my experience the denser and/or harder and/or grippier lp are easier for hitting, but there is a trade off in how easy they are to play against. But I am no expert, there are more knowledgeable lp players than I on the forum.

Have you thought of trying some nasty mid pimples so you get effect, but also a bit easier to hit and block with.

Never had much luck with MPs, but always willing to try. I knew a penholder who smashed through everything with RITC 563 and another who used Dawei 388c-1 I don't think MPs officially exist according to the ITTF. I tried half long a few times. If you went with an MP, which would you glue-up?

I have a boat load of LPs coming from various sources, new and used. I plan to demo extensively in order to find THE ONE.

I got a sheet of .5mm Scylla. What blade are you using?
