BH: Victas Curl P1V 1.0
Hello all,

Any experiences with FL II (1.1mm) on a JSH-blade for chopping? I read somewhere that FLII is rather lively/springy, so a slower blade would be better... but I don't want to lose power and low angle on FH

I'm used to chopping with Curl P1r (1.1mm) on a JSH-blade

I was also considering VKMO, Butterfly Defence Pro. And i have a Defence Alpha as well, seems like some high ranked female choppers have the combination Defence Alpha + FLII

Any experiences, opinions?

Ok, it's been a long time since I contributed

So I finally tried the Feint Long II on my second JSH blade :Chop:

Test set-up: JSH + FLII 1.1 (black) + Tibhar Ev. EL-s 1.9 (red)
Usual set-up: JSH + Curl P1r 1.1 (red) + Tibhar Ev. El-s 1.9 (black)

I played against one equally ranked player/attacker (C6, around usatt 2100 or so) and one lower ranked player. I played one match with each of the blades against both players, starting with the strong player, then the weaker player.

My first impressions:

- FLII has more grip, so is more sensitive to incoming spin. I don't know if that's partly because it's a new sheet
- FLII-chops are trickier for opponent
- When pushing, you have to really make an active, but short movement
- Despite of the grip, attacking was not easy, maybe because i'm not good in attacking with pimples  Fishing was more doable (and disturbing for opponent)!
- It was easy to place the ball with FLII, easier then with P1r
- P1r is less spin sensitive and to me overall easier to play with (also because I'm used to it of course)

Another thing, can't really explain this...

The experimental set-up feels completely different, even though blade and FH rubber are the same. Total weight of the blades are the same too (both 183g). And still the experimental set-up feels heavier (gave me some pain on my wrist even). And my forehand rubber feels a lot harder on the new blade, it just feels like a different rubber. More spin, less control, harder feel. Could be explained by the fact that the FH-sheet is rather new (played only 10 matches or so with it) while the other FH-sheet is used for approx. 4 months. I was wondering if it could also have to do with the colour of the rubber. The new one is red, the old one black.

Don't know what you're thinking about this...

I won all my matches, so it wasn't so hard to get used to the whole set-up, despite of the differences...

Will do some more testing in the next weeks/months. And Lorre comes to our club in a couple of weeks!

Doesn't FLII lack spin on chops? Can you active block with it? Can you bh flick with it? How is the forgiveness compared to p1r?
