...A t present , I am following the strategy of slow pip - reduced speed- short blocks, counterattack, twiddling, pivot for a fh smash.... and it is ok for a decent level ; once I encounter a fast ,spinny intelligent player, any current pip at the table is not enough..... so little by little I am changing my style and at present I am testing the route : very fast, grippy pip allowing different types of blocks + slow blade and on the fh very fast, very spinny rubber,..... this makes the opponent lose their perfect timing,..... not easy points any more, right but those easy points are a rarity once the level goes up anyway ,....

I'm right there with you regarding the properties related to a player of a decent level. But in the context of the relaunch of 'Dornenglanz' there was imho a misleading of the consumers as a matter of fact the advertising of Dornenglanz III let stand the potential buyers in the assumption this new item to be a further development of old DG. But it wasn't !!

Played with it today for about two hours against a 2300 looper. I put it on the Joola CWX which I usually use with Dr N’s Superblock so I can compare the two. It’s definitely faster than the Superblock, but it’s controllable. Chop locks are short and low. Pushes are easy and I was able to control the placement right away. It’s also reasonably insensitive to spin. One thing to watch out for is that sometimes the ball just pops up for seemingly no reason. Overall, however, it’s definitely a keeper and it’s reasonably easy to get used to.

No ball pops up with Stiga All Round Classic, Infinity VPS Diamond Touch & Nitaalu Acoustic Carbon.

I think I tamed it. So far so good. I little too sensitive to spin for my liking but otherwise it’s a keeper. Btw, the mid distance chopping is very controllable and easy.

I think it is important to say which blade all of you test the rubber in . Even 2 blades of the same manufacturer can behave differently due to the different weight, for example .

It seems DG III is slow and controllable but far from the disruption of the original DG.Maybe Leviathan is closer to DG's behaviour and more durable.

I can tell a cheap old Dawei / BT can behave even better than any full of hype , state of the art new pip, which I guess the manufacturers don't want you to know, of course .
