I stumbled across a review of this rubber on the youtube, and after that found some internet sites that are selling it. It is advertised as ittf aproved and frictionless at the same time which can't be true, so I am curious if anyone tried it and is it the same as the old super block, or Super Block Extreme which I luckily was able to get. It has ittf number so it can't be frictionless?

Yep... I came across this a while back on tenryu.com.my, and was wondering .. The packaging photos look exactly like Dr.N Superblock ...

Around 1-2 years back, Dr.N had started selling the Superblock, once again .. I heard that the ITTF demanded that they stopped.. Could it be that stores are selling excess stock under the Saviga name ?

It cann't be excess stock because I don't think that they could relabel existing sheets, and also why would ittf allowed them to sell frictionless, and disallow Dr Neubauer to do the same. But the cover really looks like old Super Block.

The ban of frictionless pimples is difficult to enforce in Asia; it seems China is reluctant to accept this ban.We can still see some FL pimples with the ITTF logo being sold on Aliexpress . No wonder the description of Saviga SB mentions the rubber is frictionless. What is a disgrace is the fact that the ITTF turnns a blind eye over this issue.

Moral : do not mess with the Chinese ever!!

Yes, you have a point .. Perhaps, it's a marketing ploy by Dawei/Saviga - and it's working - it's certainly piqued my interest, that I don't mind buying it... I'm suckered!!

Well, I just ordered a couple sheets. I've never tried Dr. N Superblock so I don't know what real frictionless plays like. Hopefully someone who does can compare them. I probably should've waited for others' opinions but I couldn't help myself

There's also a Yinhe Qing SuperBlock on Prott.vip .. But, the packaging is different

I guess, these companies are trying to piggy-back on the SuperBlock name .. Saviga, it seems, has taken it step further, by replicating the packaging too ..

It plays so that when you try it once, you will never come back to regular pips :D. If it is regular super block the pips should feel as smooth as some kind of plastic.

LARC pimple type categorized as short.

https://youtu.be/FPJ2qvmvxAg

Video shows as a super slow rubber, promising!

I haven't, I tried just Dr Neubauer Super Block Extreme, and it is the same as old super block, but since they cannot sell it anymoreI am hoping that someone else will keep the fires on :D .

So lets see what you will get from your order.

The answer should be fairly easy...nothing! Frictionless long pips are illegal and since the Saviga is on the LARC it was tested by ITTF and therefore can't be frictionless. Also, it doesn't look like a frictionless pip in the video above as there is no reversal on passive blocks but there is reversal on chop blocks. It might be interesting for some users since it seems fairly slow (please keep in mind the blade used in the test is not a super slow DEF blade!) and has a low bounce.

I agree. It didn't look frictionless to me at all. Even pushes in response to pips blocks looked like they went fairly high (suggesting there wasn't much underspin on the ball). Will be curious to hear the impressions of anyone who ordered it.
