Experts on pips know how good Palio CK- AND many others- was with the celluloid ball.However,it is so bad with this plastic one.

I wonder the reasons behind al this.

The plastic balls are slightly bigger and don't spin up nearly as well, so there is just less spin in the game, which makes long pimple play less effective. The plastic surface may interact with the pimples differently too, which may be another factor.

Unfortunately we're not going back to celluloid, so unless they come up with another type of plastic (what would be the incentive?), I think we'll just have to learn to adjust.
