I’ve been playing with Grass dtech Ox in red for sometime now and it took a while to get used to the characteristics of the rubber. It’s important to know what it can and can’t do as once you’ve learnt that it has to be the best long pip rubber for disturbance/reversible. However, I thought I would be different and try the green version. I’ve now had a few seasons and a couple of league matches but I’m now convinced the green version doesn’t trouble the opponent as much. Far less disturbance. The control element is the same as is the bounce and trajectory. How can this be? I am now putting back the red sheet. Has anyone else found this to be the case

I haven't used it but I played against it over the weekend and it was very tough to play against. The player is very skilled with using the Grass D Tec S in the "standard" colors. He said he had the feeling that it was perhaps more grippy than red or black. Playing against it, it was tough to read whether he was giving me a lot of spin or a little.

I use the green and red d.tecs in OX, and can seemingly pick one at random with no change in effectiveness for my game.

Are you comparing a new sheet of green to an old, worn red sheet with less grip? Or two fresh colors?

Used the Green DTecS in a match for the first time last night and lost my first match in 5 to a guy using short pips on his forehand. I actually felt nervous and my defeat was probably due to that.
I beat their other two players comfortably.
I struggled a bit with the fact that the pips were new and a bit lively on a blade I have just started using.
I won’t be able to judge whether the green pips are different to the red until they are worn in.
Bulldog.

I agree Bulldog. But do you like the colour? One of my opponents in my league match said the green was so different (colour wise)that it focussed his mind and was a reminder to him it’s long pips which he said helped him adjust his stroke. Interesting!

Thank you, Tibhar. The pimpled Reptilian lost its toxic teeth.

Yeah, just get the black to match the black inverted sheet..

I love the colour. It will surely become less bright after a couple of months.

Not d.tecs!

It possesses the undying light of ping pong justice that shall never fade!

Ok so maybe anyone from you - do you think that the acid green version has a more spin reversal?
We sell them on our shop but we don't have the chance yet to test this version.
I play personally dtecs red for almost 8 years.
Is there is any difference between acid greed and the red or black version?

Welcome to the Green club. I have used mine exclusively since I got it out of my box at Christmas. Excellent rubber. I have noticed no difference from the red. It is very eye-catching.

I’m a LP fanatic having tried most of all the you/beaut different brands of OX available over the last 4 or 5 years. |( I tried the red DTecS OX 8) several times moving on but always coming back to it.
Well today I tried the Acid Green version for the first time for a couple of hours & I don’t quite agree with Bulldog saying there is no difference from the red.
I found the green rubber to be slightly slower with a bit more control & spin reversal. Chop/blocking & side swiping worked a treat.
I love being a member of the Green Club it feels good & is very eye catching! 8)
