Since I became a pensioner at 66 on Dec 30th 2021.
I decided I needed to play like one more.
So I bought some Hellfire LP with sponge for chopping away from the table and hitting or Looping(backspin)
and blocking when needed.
This is on my forehand and so far I am playing very well with them after minimum practice.
2 hours practice and then a league match the next day where I won all my 3 matches and one against someone who has always used LP and plays in age group tournaments where all his age group do. So I thought he would have a few tricks to mess me up as I am really a novice with them. I beat him easily.
Anyway enough of the bragging, lol.
My question is has anyone had the same problems as me.
To start with even after my first 2 hour practice the top sheet started coming away from the sponge in some places around the edge.
I reglued these and carried on.
Then other different bits started to come away which I also reglued.
So far no big problem that a paint brush and minimum amount of glue won't fix.
Then after 3-4 weeks the topsheet started to bubble in the middle. Just where I hit the ball.
I could see that this also had detached itself from the sponge.
As I used to play with SP for many years and glued the topsheet to my own sponge.
I thought I can sort this out by taking the topsheet off and regluing it with about 5-6 goats of glue before reassemble.
When I was using SP this would stay glued forever.
Anyway once you take off the Hellfire topsheet it is so disfigured that you would never get it back on the sponge.
So I binned it.
So the question as already stated is.
Has anyone else had this problem of the topsheet coming away from the sponge on Hellfire or any other LP with sponge?

Cannot speak for the Hellfire,

However I had a sheet of (.6?) Neptune. The topsheet separates on the edges and the logo area, but no problems in the center.
Maybe you got a bad sheet?

I've never used Hellfire with sponge, but have used Dtecs (probably had about 5 sheets in 10 years), 755, and FL3. In no cases did I have issues with the sponge coming off. S&T are generally very good for quality, so I'm surprised you had a bad experience. I would be tempted to speak to your supplier - at £30 a pop (at least!) you should be getting your money's worth!

I have spoken to a different supplier and one I was an agent for, for many years.
He tells me there was a bad batch back in December and they had 40 customers complain.
They sent all their stock back and got it replaced and have had no problems since.
I bought it from someone else.
Either they didn't know there was a problem as maybe people haven't complained.
Or they got the bad ones that were sent back to the manufacturer.
Which would have been a dirty trick sending them back out again.
