I’ve tried Bomb Talent and everyone of my opponents and practice partners said it’s far less difficult to play against than dtechs. Yes it was easy to control but just didn’t have the disruption effect.

ok then and good luck on your quest to find the disruption monster in either DG or Grass DT ;)

if you want to be passive, get more reversal, and have a faster return (which may be too fast) - DTecs
if you want to be more active/ creative, and have the ability to manipulate the ball - DG

I haven't tried both. But I've read from basically everyone that DG doesn't last long, Dtecs might be double the cost but it can easily last you 1yr. I would put their cost in the same bracket as you can buy more sheets of DG but will change them more often. So ultimately they cost the same.

This was also the reason I never bothered to try DG.

Playing competition you win minimum 2 o 3 points with DG each game, with DTecs no one or at least one each 2 o 3 games.

The only problem I see using DG it's the low quality due to the fact loses pips asap and faster if you are hitting, but is 20€ sheet so you can buy 2 and half DTecs.

Also DTecs is very fast so no good for low arc returns and keep the ball in the table. Also a lot of less control using DTecs due to fast returns it's very difficult keep the ball low.

I totally agree with the comment regarding the high arc. This has caused me problems as my opponent then goes in for the kill! I have ordered a sheet of DG and will try it out but I do hope it is still as troublesome for my opponent as dtech.

The new Dtchs blocks with high arc so at advanced levels this is a very important flaw. The blade is paramout too.A slow blade tames the speed, yes , but does not solve the high arc.

Dtchs brakes hard loops very well , yes but the reversal depends very much on the blade. For example ,on Stiga Infinity V it shines but on a more flexy blade the reversal is worse .

Dg when broken in is much more effective on blocks than dtchs and the opponent will make much more errors , therefore, you have to choose between more harm on blocks or better braking effect, better pushes, better side swipes by Dtchs.

Come back here with your thoughts after some sessions. DG has always interested me for close to table but the durability is horrendous which is why I didn't even bother buying.

That's why, maybe, the ITTF will never ban this effective pip. That's why Spinlord created Leviathan with improved durability.

Once your level goes up,the loops against you will have better quality and so will the smashes making the pips break even sooner. Those famous names using DG have the sheets for free; we,amateurs, have to foot the bill over and over again.Sad pip story.

Played competition agains Leviathan black OX, less dangerous than DG. The big problem playing with OX is how to avoid the high or long returns to no topspin or backspin serves usually longs to your pips, if you play with grippy pips no problem one step back followed with a strong chop, but with frictionless pips OX doesn't works because you don't have grip to generate your own backspin. I found using absorption sponge to be very tricky because you can attack easily these serves, also improves low and flat returns, you can keep the ball at the table returning power topspin, I am using Nittaku Acoustic Carbon, because I like a lot to attack with forehand with inverted rubber, also like the good quality serves and blade help me a lot, the absortion sponge that I use is D.M.S. red color (is the one with more dampening) also the thicker one, so can use fast, rigid blades that are the best to chop block close to the table, other great point is that DG doesn't lost the reversal and disruption.

Well my sheet of Dornenglanz has arrived. It comes with a protected sheet covering the pips and I have to say the pips look quality, however, only time will tell. I now have two set ups both on a combination wood nut blade with the Dornenglanz and the other with grass dtechs. Both set ups with tenergy 25. I’ll be practicing soon with both and will report back

DG plays better when the grip of pips is gone.

Russian young starlet has last week won ITTF U15 using Dornenglanz pimples. She is getting stronger and stronger with time.
