Sword Scylla used to be a great blocking and chopping rubber .In ox it blocked really well but it was a tad fast for my liking .

I wonder if this Scylla III-new version- is great for blocking and chopping too .On Aliexpress it costs about 26€ so it is a bit pricey for a Chinese rubber .I imagine if it is worth this price, it should be a rubber to be considered. At least, it is 10/ 14 € cheaper than Victas or Stiga's chopping rubbers .

It seems it is not such a great pip.

Translation from : https://ttdd.eu/sword-scylla-iii.html

The Sword Scylla III has absolutely nothing to do with the Scylla, and it is hardly similar to the Venom either.

Instead, it is a rather slow long pimple that is clearly optimised for block play at the table with occasional disruptive strokes.

The pimples of the Scylla III are quite wide and the distance between the pimples is also quite small. The length of the pimples is at the upper limit.

But what is really special about the Scylla III are the pimple heads: these are flat, shiny and minimally sticky like some of SpinLord's long pimples. This manufacturing technology was originally developed and perfected by Lion and SpinLord. This is a 1:1 copy of that technology, either created by trial and error or based on intellectual property theft.

However, the pimples of the Scylla are by no means as sticky as those of the Dornenglanz, more like those of the Dornenglanz II. Nevertheless, the Scylla III really does have a certain "Dornenglanz feel".

However, the Scylla III is not quite as dangerous as the Dornenglanz. This is probably mainly due to the wider pimples and the rubber compound, which is very elastic, but also softer and slower.

However, the Scylla III is by no means harmless; the disruptive effect is roughly in the range of lightning.

The Scylla III is easy to play and manageable even for players of lower levels.

Minus points, however, for the lack of versatility: The Scylla III is hardly any good for shots from half-distance and thus also for undercut defence; overall, it lacks a certain versatility.

The Scylla III is therefore only suitable for players who exclusively play close to the table.

In this respect, the version with sponge is rather pointless, especially since the processing quality of the pimple heads is significantly worse here. There is a reason why many SpinLord pimples are only available in ox....

Therefore, our description only applies to the ox version and we can only recommend it.

The pimples of the Scylla are very durable and the build quality is decent.

The price for ox is a special price for the market launch !
