It one on me and the write up on their website doesn't convince me it's a frictionless replacement. We're counting on your comments now, once you've knocked against it - a worrying state of affairs!

Perhaps before going mad about these LPs, we should be sure that they are ITTF approved. I can't see them in the ITTF webpage. Perhaps after the Swiss judge has made up his mind about TT Master case it won't be important anymore, but by now...

Its legal, on the list 29b, not the one that they show on the main equipment part of the ITTF website.

My impression was that is was nothing special... not particularly slow, but was decent for attacking... I didn't like it that much for chopping as the feel was not there... I would have taken more time to properly evaluate the rubber though...

Thanks Robert. However I'm having problems in downloading the 29b list from ITTF page, is it my computer or does anybody else have the same problem?

I've ordered some Bomb Talent from china-friend on ebay, as well as some DHS Cloud & Fog 3. Will record my impressions here once I get some time on them.

I have a couple of sheets in red, awaiting a new blade (TSP Balsa 2.5). I will report back on the rubber and the blade. I will be using a glue sheet for attachment.

At first appearance the rubber looks to be nothing special. The pips are very flexy and do not in anyway feel frictionless either by touch or by scooting the ball across the surface. They seem to be very resilliant also.

I bought the sheets in response to a comment here that they were "disconcerting" or some such word to play against.

If nothing else, if I didn't have any "talent" before; now I finally have some:)

Sounds good! I would be interested to hear about the blade as well... a little mini-review perhaps?

Bomb Talent and DHS Cloud & Fog 3 arrived today in the mail.

Bomb Talent.. very sheer, just about see-through in red.. I hope the pips don't break off. Small, widely spaced pips. When handled it makes that tight-stretched sound even thought it's not (like Neptune et al). Very light weight.. thus far it reminds me of Saviga V. I'll be trying the Bomb Talent at the club this evening.

Cloud & Fog 3.. very substantial, and (eegad!) foam. 1.0mm, I think. Corners cut off (why?) so adding to the Rubber Mass Database will be tricky. Longish, unremarkable looking pips. This should be interesting.. and heavy.

Bomb Talent prelim report: This OX LP reverses spin like crazy. Nothing like the Neptune I'm used to. I could actually see the ball careening off the LP with massive spin in the other direction. I didn't get to play any matches with it so I'll keep this brief until my club's Thursday round robin. Slower than Neptune. Seemed easy to punch block with accuracy. Not as much spin on serve as Neptune but capable of serving dead balls with ease.

Tonight I was mostly testing it by defending against incoming loops, with my coach (r. 2400) supplying the loops. Strong loops. With a proper chop block his loops were returning to him with massive spin. I couldn't believe I (er.. the LP) was returning them. Very cool.

More later this week.
