Since I get bored, I often look for new ways to entertain myself. This is truly spectacular: The "Strange King" is a blade designed specifically to use with LPs (OX, thin sponged, or thin sponged MP/SP, Anti). It is the first blade ever in China's history to have grains perpendicular to the handle. It took 7 months of research and experimenting to perfect the final product. From watching the video, I can summarize by saying it's definitely a unique blade. On the LP side, grains are perpendicular to the handle, whilst the normal side has grains we are used to seeing. This makes the blade absorb a stupid amount of power and offer unprecedented control, since all the power is distributed away from the stroke's motion. Here is the official site, it has won the sole distributed in China. So it is particularly annoying for me to get hold of it. http://www.ttshop.cn/product.asp?id=1830 Oh, did i mention that it's CHEAP!!? it's 388RMB retail, and <200RMBfor wholesale. But if anyone is ordering, (namely Alex *cough cough*) please let me know so I can get an order slipped in |

Looks interesting Gek. Not that I could read anything about it lol. Could be the ultimate "two speed" blade. |

Yep, sorry Reb, I tried my best to pull out the most interesting/useful info from the loads of crap on the advertising pages. Basic idea is to look at the wood grains and be in utter shock (like I was), but the whole 2 speed idea is truly amazing. I mean anything that gets a light-sider interested I reckon is worth looking at for you dark-dwellers ahahhaa Which, I might add, makes my signature ten times more convincing now! Btw, friends in China say playing against the blade is pretty vomit-inducing, so I guess that's a thumbs up |

Interesting blade! So it's a combi bat with wood fibres facing perpendicularly from the handle on the LP side to further boost control. The video also says that the LP side is soft, which means that OX is not going to work as well. Great for choppers using sponge LP though. The comments under the video are hilarious (you may not be able to decipher the chinese characters): Quote: 跟长胶打赢了都想掐死他 Translate: even after winning against LP I'd still like to trample him. Quote: 跟长胶打太恶心了 Loose translation: playing against LP is too gross! |

You could put me down for a couple of these...I always get blades in pairs...sometimes they are not so pair-like, but at least I have a decent chance of getting ones, not largely dissimular. One difficulty, perhaps...as far as could discern there was printing on both sides and if you are using a translucent, OX, Long pips you might find someone who would take exception to the fact that you can see the printing through the rubber...Something to think about. tOD |

Its a great concept if it actually works, I wonder just how running the grain horizontal would slow down a blade? |

I wonder what the composition of the blade entails. tOD |

It would be funny if you got the bat and glued the rubbers onto the wrong sides lol |

There is no straight handle AFAIK. metal monkey wrote: Its a great concept if it actually works, I wonder just how running the grain horizontal would slow down a blade? It's through distribution of vibrations. I'd probably have to research a lot onto this to explain properly. But currently I'd think it's due to the length of the grains (down the handle is longer than across the blade surface), which correspond to different vibrational modes. theOldDuffer wrote: I messed around with the web pages for a while with little success, if anyone is going to going to order/purchase from these folks I will take two of the blades. tOD Yes it is very annoying to order from eacheng. |
