Is it possible to add RSS to the forum?

I'm sure there's a phpbb mod for it, but since I don't really understand how it works, I have not looked into it....

What benefits would it offer?

RSS is a news feeder. DDTW have RSS option on their site, I find it really useful as I dont have to go into to their site to see what the latest post are.

Once setup (I use firefox). It acts as a live bookmark system, it refreshes automatically or you can refresh it and see the latest posts (it shows the topic title).

The most powerful thing is it keeps track or all the posts across all the forum categories. It shows upto 20 of the past posts.

I really like it. Try it out for DDTW on firefox. It's great for when Im at work and shouldn't be reading TT posts.

There is a mod you can add for phpbb. It shouldn't be to difficult.

The mod I suggested will supprt RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and
## ATOM 1.0. Will this be sufficent?

Ok I have implemented it. You need to go to the FAQ at the top and click on the newsfeeds (last topic). The direct link is here:

Would someone who knows what they're doing (ie. not me) like to test it out?

I would like to put a little icon on the forum page somewhere to access it directly, if only I knew how to do it... (help gundam, where are you??? :lol:

That should work, although you won't get the config options, just the default.

Yes I know what link to show, in fact I have an icon for the link already... What I don't know is how to make the icon display on the page...never done any php programming, but still managing to stumble through mods so far... :roll:

Yep! RSS feed works really well in my newsreader and save tons of time!
