OOAK Table Tennis Forum

I think this section is great for people to sell off their old gear, and to buy some bargains. It can save you a lot of money if you're keen to experiment to try something different, as you can buy a much cheaper 2nd hand item to test, before you take a plunge of new equipment.

Although the section has great potential, it does not seem to be very popular and I'm not sure why.... Any ideas on how we can put some more 'life' into this section?

My suggestion would be to change 'View active topics' to 'Latest posts - click here'. I was a member here for over a year before I noticed it.

I think it is because this place is thought of a discussion forum not a marketplace. I've noticed that often members who use the Buy and Sell dont contribute to the forum. And only a few active forum members use the Buy and Sell. The fact that the membership is very geographically diverse makes it uneconomic to trade via post. Then there is the issue of risk....

Maybe a better way of showing feedback from previous sales/purchases. There is a thread 'Buyer beware' but not everyone knows it is there or uses it. I searched it out a lot before selling/trading recently and was able to track down some feedback through that thread and PM, but this could be made a lot easier by adding it somewhere in member's profile (or somewhere). This may help with the risk involved as (like with ebay) people will generally try to keep their feedback positive once it exists.
