That would be a very useful bit of information to disclose when your original advice was offered. Seriously, man...

Don't go less then 1.5 sponge. You want to be able to create spin....this isn't LP chopping.

Don't go with Super spin pips chop....practically useless offensively.

Go with spectol or 802 or regular SSP

Are the super spin pips (1 or 2) just too mushy for offense? Are they still good for defensive chopping/blocking? Say you block or chop 70% of the time, would they be a good fit?

And do you have any experience trying to chop with fast pips? Like joola express or moristo sp?

I've got an LP and Anti setup for chopping, but I feel like when playing passive players, those blades are more of a hindrance than a help! So I was hoping to try SP chopping again so I could generate spin and put away easy floaters with a smash. Right now I've got spectol 1.7-1.9mm. Is that better than the rest already?

Chop 1 is super spin pips with a P1r sponge. Chop 2 is super spin pips with a p4 sponge.

The first is too hard the second too soft.

The regular isn't that bad.

Tensor short pips are too fast.

Your spectol is the best. I'd use that!

What is the real purpose to using SP then? If the chopping ones are fairly spinny -- why not use something like Spinlord Marder/Gambler Reflectoid (inverted with a "chopping" sponge to slow down the ball) instead?

The idea is to get the most out of spin manipulation and still have a margin of error so spin doesn't react as much. But premise
truly is the same. It's just easier to chop with short pips.
