802-40 (1.8mm) FH on a galaxy 980 would that be any good ? the 980 seems to be pretty stiff and to generate much more speed than spin plus according to most reviews that i found around it has almost no vibrations

i always forget some important info don't i ?

For BH or FH, what style are you wanting to play and what thickness 802-40.

i have been thinking about trying to develop a style that has sp FH and ox lp BH, for shake hand i heard that the thicker the better in terms of speed, but i am considering other short pips too (651-652 both on 2.2)

For forehand any will work when chopping. Do you want to smash on that side? If you want to smash, get a faster one like impartial xs, yasaka pips, joola ultra express etc.

The main weakness is fishing away from the table or lobbing

Tougher to add spin compared to inverted, thus you lose control when top spinning away

I want to chop on backhand and smash on forehand

Yes, but what if you're far away from the table and the ball goes to your fh? Are you going to smash at it? Chop? Fish?

Unless you plan to chop block or block at the table with your ox lp backhand, then the short pips will be weaker away from the table. Thomas bennborn uses sp fh and ox lp, but in a very defensive chopping style both wings. I've never heard or seen that combo used before without them chopping on the fh also.

You can still fh smash a lot, but need a plan on what to do if you cant

i understand the issue now, perhaps twiddling with help but won't solve the problem, if only there was a pip that could both hit and loop. Maybe i should think about medium pip on forehand, that way i can both chop and hit (not chopping as well as a lp nor hitting like sp)
