You might as well stay with Spectol Red for now, as it's still available, and will be cheaper than the Victas option. The TSP stuff will remain ITTF approved for 5 more years, so there's no rush :)

good video especially if you speak Japanese !

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaoYjUrrG5s

S2 looks a little more dangerous whilst S3 appears to be bit slower with a higher arc and have more grip.

This makes sense as the Victas web site states S3 has thinner pips for more spin variation than S2. Strangely it does not give sponge hardness data - is it the same on both ?

so probably not Spectol Red & blue rebranded.

How does it play S1? Plays like spectol or spectol speed?

Hi friends, i've been played with S2 in Forehand and S3 in Backhand for 6 months, blade Neubauer Technology Plus
Victas has done a great work with both, my impresions:

I play with 1.6 rubbers , both are very fast i think that thickness is more than enough to play lethal balls.

S2 and S3 are very easy to use even in this thickness.

S2 and S3 are very close each other, S3 is only a bit Slower , less sensitive to incoming spin and with more control but is difficult to find the difference. S2 and S3 can be use in forehand without problem.
Not found deception in both.

The tension is present in both but due the throw is very low this tension helps you stealing the rival's timing.
Great sound in both.

The best:
Blocking with those rubbers is amazing, but you need to build your point with pressure on your opponent and open angles.
Hitting , you can do devastating smashes with these rubbers, as you can see in the video my balls couldn't be returned.
You can do pseudo Topspins in emergency situations.
Return serves and the short game.

Problems:
Don't generate spin so your serves have to be oriented to position and speed.
Not deception found, there will not easy points with these rubbers.
Sensitive to incoming spin.

A problem I had with 1.5mm on forehand is that the ball flies o flat that cant land on the table. It happened with 103

How is the S2 blocking slow loops is 2.mm on S2 too fast?

S2 in 2.mm is too fast...for blocking is better s3. Neither of them neutralizes the opposite spin you have to have a good techinque and use these rubbers for active blocking game

After a lot of testing I also think S3 is better for blocking than S2, but for different reasons. Even in 2.0, S2 is very easy to bottom out. Now this MAY sound perfect, but because of the lack of real sink, you are getting continuously hammered by these double inverted loopers.

So if there are no other choices, S3 is fine for blocking due to the slightly harder pips.

But my preference lately is the VO103 with a harder 40 degree sponge. Gives OK sink too (less than moristo but more than S2, S3).

I read somewhere that S2 returns flat balls when blocking and found S3 very limited.

103 has more sink than moristo by far but doesnt last and if you drive hard is easy to attack long
I m thnking about using 2mm. 103.
Anyone has tried if 2mm version has good sink too?]

I think the same , S3 is better for blocking but can't found sink in this rubber, it is harmless.

I've been testing Keiler II and for now is my choice beacuse it is more dangerous when you are blocking.
Even though the rubber is defined as medium pip it is in the short pips side.
