What are the best best frictionless short pips now ?

What were the best frictionless short pips before the frictionless pips ban of 2008

I only know of one, Butterfly Resilon and that was before the frictionless pips ban of 2008

Yes, it was 2008 that pimples all were re-tested for actual frictionality (ITTF depositary would keep all rubber samples for 10 years).
LARC 29 rubber articles shown in green are those failed to pass the test. (=low friction pimples <0.5).

The best disruptive effect SP among well-known rubbers has Dr. Neubauer Killer and its variations.

I used resilon but I was very amateur but the blocking was insane. I wonder if it does exist something like resilon.

In contrast to a flourishing development of racket rubber coverings, or rubbers, no technical data can be found on their performance under different environmental conditions. In light of this, here we report an experimental study on the frictional response of four different popular rubbers, with pimples-in and pimples-out gometry, tested against three different balls at five levels of relative humidity. It is found that the humidity does affect the frictional characteristics of the rubbers, with all parameters being responsive to changes in the environmental conditions and reaching maximum at the humidity of about 45–60% in a majority of the cases.

Probably the most interesting finding is that the ball surface finish has significant effect on the frictional response of all rubbers. This can provide players with the ability to control the rubber performance at different levels of humidity by simply choosing between different balls. Graphic Abstract attached below.

SUMMARY OF THE RESEARCH:
Challenger Attack rubber by ®Tamasu Butterfly proved the best one senseless to the incoming ball spin. Available from authorized retailers at USD 38 per sheet.

Spinlord Gepard is pretty low friction for an SP - see Video reviews on You tube

we have tried it in 2mm at out club but a bit harmless except good against LP's due to its ability to play no spin balls

+1
I got to test Killer Soft and thought it was a MP because of the disruption!!

Interesting topic!
From a little search, it seems that the Tibhar Speedy Soft series has the lowest friction values on the market (i.e. less spinniest SP). But their speed range is ALL+/OFF+.
It doesn't seem to exist a slow SP with low friction values. Also, Defensive SP have medium/high spin values.
Also, the Spinlord Waran has low spin values.
I'm going to try the speedy soft on my backhand. Now I'm using the old TSP Spectol soft.

If I recall correctly, Speedy Soft has wider pips than Spectol.
They are both equally slow.
Not sure that Speedy Soft would be a good choice if you are looking for less grip (vs Spectol).
Lower friction than Spectol would probably be a MP.

Dr Evil. Genuinely a short pip, but as it is basically 804 insideout, is very spin resistant. Almost anti-like.

Designed to be used in OX, and only sold that way, but you can buy and attach your own sponge, or Japsko used to sell one that they had made up - Dr Evil « Swedish Glued »

I've read more about SP friction/spin production and it seems that generally speaking, a big role is played by the rubber more than the topsheet geometry/"stickiness".
OX SP has always a low grip on the ball with respect to a sandwich SP of the same topsheet.
Hard and/or fast rubber produce less friction compared to soft and/or slow rubber.
I've ordered the Dr Evil and a damping sponge, and I want to check the friction level of this combination...

I sent email and they said they only have hard sponges. I need something like T05 fx soft sponge. That kind of soft.
Have you bought sponge from them?

Not personally. I've bought a lot rubbers from them though! And I know people who have bought sponge from them too.

I don't know where else to try, except perhaps aliexpress / similar?
