In this video we review short pips rubbers on forehand, the ones that we consider the best (in our opinion :) )

Nice video! I've used every SP (and more) that you covered and came to the same conclusions you did for FH SP. Until I tried the new Nittaku Sonic AR VA, that is. It exceeds the highest-rated SPs in your comparison despite its vertically-oriented pips. Sonic AR has higher throw than (vertically-oriented) Beautry SP and => speed than Moristo SP Ax.

I didn't know the Nittaku Sonic AR VA, I think I'll try them soon :) . I have been consulting some revies and it seems a rubber to consider, although I'm not a big fan of soft sponges, maybe with vertical alignment it's a good combination to get the extra grip, thanks.

I have tried most of the most popular short pips on my forehand, using either a Clipper or a faster carbon blade. I have found that the faster the blade, the more that sponge thickness becomes more significant. On the fast carbon blades, I found that 1.8 is enough. At his point, I have been most impressed with Moristo MP. It feels like the perfect balance between spin and speed. It does, however, require active strokes to be most effective. Less than that will give your opponent the time to speed loop your returns.

I really like the videos these guys put out in particular the way they have highlighted the different characteristics of short pips that suit the Fh vs the BH.

I suppose a key subject for SP for the FH is soft vs hard sponge, soft giving more spin and control on blocks but hard giving more precision. also I find with pips out rubbers colour has some impact red being a bit harder and faster whilst black is softer and more spinny

Spinfire would be another one to consider for the FH along with Tornado Supreme plus of course Moristo SP AX and Sonic.
