Hi, I have a question to the ITTF Breaking Down Barriers with Table Tennis Balls Program. Activity 4 is Round the Table. It says "When down to 2 players, they stand next to each other taking in turns hitting the ball, placing the racket on the table and spinning around." Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks in advance! |

I think they mean standing on opposite sides of the table, ie normal position, then after hitting each ball placing racket on the table and spinning around and picking the racket up for the next shot. |

Thank you, but what does spinning around mean? 360 degrees or round the table? Anyway, how to return the ball that quickly with even placing the racket on the table? If it helps to understand that rule: I guess the normal way is that there is a Coach on one side of the table and the Kids lining up on the other side and after a correct return they go round the table. But I don't understand what to do, when there are only two of them left. |

The way i have seen it done, you divide the players into 2 groups. The groups start at either end of the table. There is a bat at either end of the table. One side serves.The other side receives. After their hit the player puts the bat on the table and moves to the end of the queue on the other side of the table. When it gets down to 3 players, the side with 2 players serves first. When it gets down to 2 players, each player plays their shot, places the bat on the table, spins around once on the spot and picks up the bat for the next shot. |
