Hello,

The below question is based on a right hand player

I have always seen Euro backhand dominant players putting their right leg ahead to approach the ball before they make a powerful backhand shot. However some Chinese backhand dominated players like Fan ZD, move their shoulder to the left side leaning on their left leg to generate power.

I'm trying to improve my backhand drives and tend to always put my leg right leg forward to approach the ball or generate power, however I feel this limits me from using my shoulders, turning them sideways towards the left to generate more power. Can anyone advice If I should be correcting this and any driills I can follow to correct this

Thanks

Modern approach is to use neutral stance usable for FH and BH both. If you have enough time to readjust legs for stronger BH you probably should pivot FH instead.
