There has been some talking about this for a few months and as usual there are a few (Amir and perhaps a few more) who knows about it. Now the video is out and perhaps Amir can ad a little more info. From what I have heard it is the same sponge as Reflection but the top sheet is a new rubber mix making it slower.

From the video it seems very good indeed:

Amir, what can you ad? Was any of the filmed matches played with ABS-ball? Is
the throw lower than Reflection? Is durability any better?

From DMS web:
PRODUCTS DESCRIPTION

With our newest slick anti-spin development der-materialspezialist SCANDAL we set the current limits for control and spin reversal.
The opponents spin is transformed into massive backspin.

Due to the utillization of a new rubber compound SCANDAL reaches a never priorly achieved slow speed and creates scandalously short blocks even when the opponent makes hard loops and hits.

Additionally the ball hereby has a downward trajectory and thereby creates a flutter effect when the opponent adds rotation to the ball. SCANDAL offers highest control values and extremely reduced angle dependency when dealing with no/low rotation balls.

SCANDAL: Extreme spinreversal, scandalous low trajectory, combinded with sensational flutter effect balls and highest control values.

The highest disruptive effect and the best spin reversal you get with SCANDAL in 0,9mm.
The 1,5 mm version is the slowest. The 1,2mm version is a perfect compromise.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Speed:19
Control: 108
Disruptive effect: 107
Characteristics: Defensive / Allround
Hardness: Medium

heya!

ball used is the tibhar 40+ syntt, most other clubs use joola flash or the xushao fa, both work equally great

its a small bit faster than transformer extra slow and reflection, but i think offers better control...blocks are shorter, very short and the rubber seems to be be faster when you play more actively. throw is a bit higher than TES.

cant compare the durability

This sounds very good Amir!

Have you played any matches with Scandal and ABS-balls? Did you film any of those matches? And if so, when is your season over so that you can share them ;) ?

I have already ordered a sheet. But I will have to wait a little before trying it since I have a leagu match comming up this weekend, and then the final matches two weeks after that. Then I can try it (I don’t have a spare blade :( ).

I also played with joola flash and the xushao fa..no big difference
Three matches (flash) i will show after the season.

Tonight i played with the tibhar syntt ng (abs) = less reversal but still enough and blocks are still short and flat. Might film it next Training

Did anyone else think that this was not specifically about a new rubber?

What's next? Der Materiaspezialist Cheating, Fraud, Imposter, Fake, ...

Faster than reflection Even though its rated slower by DMS ? Hmmmmm

Shorter blocks Even though its faster than reflection?

Seems something is wrong here.

the length of the block doesnt only depend on speed, but also on factors like slickness, pimple length (on the reverse side) and width of the pimple heads and the rubber composition.

i played reflection on the revolution and TES on my current blade. in my opinion and from what i can remember, TES seems slower, especially when playing actively. scandal is a tad faster in that regard and when the loops get spinny, the blocks are shorter.

Block length and speed are very subjective from player to player, depending on many factors such as blade, ball, opponent, experience, technique etc. For me, with my blade and ABS-balls, TES 1,2 mm was clearly faster than Reflection 1,5 mm, perhaps even faster than Reflection 1,2 mm. Blocks were lower with TES but I got more effect (strange path) from attacking back spin with Reflection. So I stayed with Reflection.

I don’t think the throw can be too low... Revolution should work fine.

Playing with reflection 1.5 and looking for the slowest and lowest possible passive Block. So I guess I wont gain anything by changing to scandal?

Seeing this topic on the Forum main page, I thought it had something to do with some salacious goings-on at a rubber manufacturer.. (And then I remembered the sort of names people like to give to long pips and anti..)
