Do I really need to use the gluing sheet for gluing an flanti onto a blade?

What difference would it make? Can I just glue the flanti right away?

I am particulalry curious about the DMS Scandal.

In my opinion, no. I am glueing directlly to the blade, with normal glue.

I read somewhere that the glue sheet is to protect the rubber because the sponge is so soft and absorbant. Generally when a manufacturer tells me to do something a certain way, I figure they know how the product should be used.

Thank you! Does not it hurt your blade in any way?

Thank you! You might be right, will come up with a decision later on.

If your blade is sealed (which is always a good idea anyway) and you take your time in removing it, generally the blade will not be damaged, in my experience. I've only had issues when I had a blade that wasn't sealed, or if I tried to rip off a rubber too quickly.

I usually take my time to remove such rubbers, so they did not really damaged by blade. True I have used the glue sheet.

I have read that sealing the blade will change its characteristics. Is that true?

In fact, for me is easier to remove the rubber from the blade if I don"t use the gluing sheet, that's why i did it(without hurting the blade or rubber).

Do you seal the blade? Do you think it will hurt the Innerforce Layer ALC without sealing?

Yes, I've sealed my blade.

Oh, yeah. I have red that the Butterfly blades come pre-sealed, maybe it is okay then. Or I remove the flanti extremeley slowly.

I've had sealed and unsealed blades...can't say I've ever noticed a difference.

1. I don't think you NEED it. It's most helpful when you're trying to attach OX pips. It REALLY helps you from tearing your hair out when you're trying to attach OX pips. This "flanti" stuff should be quite stiff, so it shouldn't NEED it.

2. Get the PROPER glue sheets. The expensive European ones, not the cheap Chinese ones. These have a "sticky" side and a "not so sticky" side. The sticky side goes towards the rubber and attaches to it permanently. The not so sticky side goes towards the blade. Applied properly, this allows you to move the rubber from blade to blade and prevents blade damage. SOP is to peel the paper off the not-so-sticky side, attach it to the blade, cut to shape, then peel the paper off the sticky side before attaching the rubber. There are ways to properly attach OX pips, but I'm not going to go into that here (look up the innumerable other posts about this).

Thank you for the tips!

A global questions for everyone here, does the glue sheet actually changes the flanti's characteristics? I have once read somewhere that the glue sheet increases the spin reversal slightly. Is that true?
