I was trying to watch the videos of the the recent men's and women's cups but I get distracted by the appalling quality! The max resolution is 720 which looks awful and blurry on the TV screen, how is that possible at a major event in the year 2020?! The audio quality is equally bad, when they stomp their foot while serving, it sounds completely unnatural. Btw is anyone else annoyed at how they butcher the points and commentary? The quality is bad - yep  About the full matches - you should be able to watch them on tv.ittf.com in better quality (like this for example: https://tv.ittf.com/video/jang-woojin-h ... zu/2222838). But they give the best quality (HD option in their player) only on the LIVE broadcasts. |

Yes it's a shame, and you wonder where all the original HD video goes...does it just sit on a server and go to waste? |

In contrast, the event in Macao had much better coverage. Only 1080p but at least it's a step forward. Two suggestions for improvement: they need a camera close up to show replays of the balls that touch the net and go over. They show replays of those shots sometimes but you can't see the ball actually touching from the normal distance. Also the replays where the camera zooms on the player's body as they are hitting balls with no context are useless IMO. That just doesn't make sense in table tennis. |
