And it wasn't close (3-1)

They're playing in Tokyo.

Other interesting things (not in this video):

Bernadette Szocs isn't using pink rubber.
In the early rounds at least, each, er, rubber is a best-of-five game contest. But what's this - the first game is DOUBLES??? They didn't do this in 2016.
Teams can consist of up to five players, some teams (notably both German teams) had only 3.
The North Koreans aren't in either top division this time. But.. who's this? Vanuatu??? In the women's. Also Egypt, Romania, Ukraine.
All three Brazilian players are ethnic Japanese (or at least have Japanese family names).
How many "European Chinese"? I don't see any this time.

USA' both men's and women's teams advanced from their groups (men beat the Sweden team, with Kanak winning both of his single matches) - but only to face China in the QF. Men already lost, women will play on Friday.

Great result for the US teams, making QF in both men's and women's!

Wow.. Both US teams had to play against China in the QF. Probably an artifact of seeding.

Japan mens played China in the semis, and lost, ROK and China in the finals. ROK had to beat ROC to get there. In the Women's it was the same four teams in the SF, except Japan beat ROK and China beat ROC so China vs. Japan in the finals.
