I buy my own chinese topsheets then apply them to various sponges. Am I allowed to stretch the topsheet as other manufacturers do to create tensors, am I allowed to treat the sponge with something that conforms with ITTF limits regarding VOCs before attaching the topsheet? If the answer to either of those is 'no' can you please explain why not?

Thanks

Can you put it on your own sponge, even without stretching it? It sounds to me like you can't as it's altered from distribution.

ok thanks speedplay - I'm afraid over many years of analysing the words of politicians for my day job I've developed an allergic reaction to twisted logic that prevents me from reading these threads in depth, ok I'll wade through and see what sort of logic prohibits you from doing something a manufacturer can do - other than a financial one

If I'm reading Adham's evaluation right, you can ask your friend to boost your sponge and stretch your topsheet. You just have to call this friend a factory.

and- has spoken, wise words my friend. Or in plainer [idiot] terms: if it's not detectable then it's legal!

Everyone speeds but there're still drivers on the roads! But when you jump off a cliff don't expect GOD to turn off gravity!

In the world of consensus facit legem, man made laws are more guidelines than natural.

But what I said is right, isn't it?

Here is another one: only those players who work at a factory are allowed to boost and stretch their rubbers.

And- you are so very right. Who's to say your business is not to buy rubbers with sponge or rubbers and sponge and boost them in a legitimate "production process" in your own "factory"! Isn't this effectively what the TT manufacturers do? Especially the ones that get another company to "make" the rubber and "make" the sponge for them. Or is the process all finished by the time the other company delivers it to them. If its not, does this make any additional alterations illegal?
