Does Stiga have their own factory where they make blades? A lot of other brands like Tibhar, Donic make blades in Sweden. I'm interested in getting the address of one of these factories. What makes Swedish blades exceptional? Anyone? Thanks.

I believe Stiga do make stuff in Sweden. As for Donic I am not certain whether they do a lot of stuff in Germany. Can't help you on an address. If you are in Sweden you'd have better access to that info.

Xiom blades (at least the blade stock) is also made in Sweden. Then I believe the blades are assembled, finished and packaged in Korea. Very nice blades of high quality!

Thank you very much for the address. Are they making the blades for XIOM?

I have not seen any Butterfly blades made in Sweden. A lot of their blades say Made in Japan or Made in China.

I don't know about all their blades, but I know most are made in China. I think it's by Sunflex, the same manufacturer that Butterfly uses for their range of Chinese blades.

Avalox also still make many of their blades in Sweden.

I've had two Xiom hinoki blades and they were clearly printed on the blade face as "Made in Sweden." I read somewhere on the Xiom website that it was just the blade blank that was made in Sweden so I assumed the rest of the assembly was done in Korea but that may have been a bad assumption. It also could be that only the Hinoki blades made (supposedly) from Swedish hinoki cypress that were ever made there. I just ordered a Xiom Zetro Quad hinoki blade, so I will see if it still says anything about Sweden.

I think the Avalox blades are produced by Woodhouse/Yasaka at the old Stiga factory in Tranas.

Stiga now produces in Eskilstuna:

I read in a different forum that Spintech, a brand from the US makes their blades in Sweden. May be from the same factory.

I don't understand the motive behind these brands bringing a lot of blades to the market. They come and then some disappear. Yasaka had a Gatien Carbon blade, now not in the market. Do the brands spend money in research to come out with something to last in the market for few years only? Or these factories, the driving force behind blades for any brand? I mean they research, come out with new blades and brand it for others. The factories own the trade mark also.
