Ulrich would like to run a thread here to so that we can ask questions and discuss the custom blades that he makes. I think it will be great for our members to able to chat and ask questions directly to the maker of blades, so I'm happy to accomodate a section for him here in our forum. Some background of Ulrich:

My Name is "Ulrich Moeller", I've played table tennis for 25 years. The highest class I have played was last year the BOL2 in the club called BESSE - my results you can see here

I have made Table tennis blades for nearly 10 years. I started to play with frictionless LP and searched a good blade for these kind of pips for the front-side with is good for loop. So I started to make my own blades. I started with very simple blades to learn more about the working with the different kinds of layers. At the beginning I make the blades in my garage on my own and with simple tools.
For the last few years I have chanced my kind of work. I have searched a good woodworker to realise my ideas. We now use CAD to make the blades and use professional tools.

The first result was my Blade called "Spin Machine" and this was a pretty good blade - so I started to make different kinds of blades - for loop, to push, etc
Now we have a few kind of blades ready to test - but not by my side, because I don't want a very big stock, so we make the Blades on request.
If the response will be better we will ask take more blades on our website. At the moment we tested a Blade without Balsa with is All-..Def+ for LN on the BS and loop an the frontside. Also we tested a Balsa blade with a layer combination on the BS with will have a flat ball out and a front-side with is good for loop - and also pushes with modern tensor rubbers like the Nimbus or Tenergy.

Ulrich's website is here: Ulmo Blades

We get some feetback that for the anti a verry hard classic blade without balsa will be a good choice. We also make some testing blades. We are still in work for some testing blade with werry hard BS and softer FS.

Would this be similar for the new 'frictionless' long pimples, which are not as slow and much grippier?

Uli gave me some testing blades as Spin Block Def, Safety, Duality and EA.
His blades are very interesting and well made.
On all this blades, BH side is harder than FH side, making it better for blocks with LP.

For my style, the Duality is the best blade I ever used. The control is amazing, giving you the feel that you can hit every balls exactly where you want.
This blades is extremely linear what give you the possibility to control the speed on every shots.
The blade is quiet stiff and excellent on blocks and hits.
Duality is made with two thin intermediate layers of balsa, but don't play as a balsa blade with core balsa layer. There is no dual-speed feel as with typical balsa blades.

More info on this excellent blade on Ulmo website: http://www.ulmo-blades.de/en/?Tabletenn ... %26nbsp%3B

Nice blades Ulmo, and I was amazed to even see a 55gram blade there. I bet that would be a dram for people that love the oldschool heavy Chinese rubbers. Any idea on what are the prices of your blades, I may have missed it but I think the website has no prices on the blades.

Welcome back uli!

In the last few years I've seen a few Ebony blades, whereas before I don't think they existed. What do you think makes Ebony special for a blade?

At first ebony looks verry good 8)

Ebony:
volume weight: 0,81 - 0,9 g/ccm
flexural strength: 181 - 200 N/mm²

Beech
volume weight: 0,64 - 0,71 g/ccm
flexural strength: 90 - 125 N/mm²

Ebony is not muce heavy then beech but the flexural strength is muce higher! So you get a blade with a hard side with have muce power for attacks with smash and topspin!

Best regards uli
