Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys had anything to say about my question in the title. So far, my current personal opinion is Masato Shiono because he's so quick and persistent in getting balls back to the opponent from the matches I've seen him play, and I feel like even between him and Joo, he's the slightest bit more like a wall, whereas Joo I feel is more stronger in other aspects overall but I could be wrong haha. Any thoughts?

How about Evgueni Chtchetinine? He's even more like a wall in respect to Matsushita, Joo or Shiono as he almost never attacks.

How about going back to the hardbat era? I've often heard defenders back then referred to as "human walls". That didn't mean they didn't attack, especially once they introduced the expedite rule, but since attacks were less powerful than they are now they could get more of the balls back, and rallies were long. Problem is I have never seen footage of Dick Miles or Richard Bergmann play.

I agree on Matsushita and Chtchetinine.

I think we may be forgetting some female players like Pavlovich, Ganna Gapanova, Wu Yang...

For wall-like defender I would go with Matsushita and there is also some bias here since I was a fan in my younger days. Also, back in the day the defenders defended, and defended, and defended, and now they also attack. So they were a bit more like a wall back then. I always admired his athleticism and I still love watching a classic battle between a defender and a looper. Sad that we rarely see this now.

In fact my first custom blade was a Matsushita Pro Special Black tag. I sold that dirt cheap to a kid who was learning to play defender and I wish I still had it, as a memento. I was such a fan that even though I play Jpen or Cpen and love to attack I can also chop on both wings and will often suddenly change it up by throwing in a chop in reply to a topspin drive instead of top spinning it back.

No, I seriously love to play table tennis. And I seriously wanted to know what you think about *link removed*. Not that I want to buy them, simply, from the point of view of a professional, how much better they can be trained compared to the wall. Thank you in advance

Every time someone posts a link to the website no one ever heard of, in their first post to boot, it is going to raise alarms to people here, just like it did with 'keme'. In 95% of the cases these are made by bots - and you still might be one, given that you posted it in the absolutely wrong place on this forum (hint: TT Robots has dedicated sub-forum here)

If you are not - well, there is a better way of getting answers: introduce yourself, ask a question in the right sub-forum, don't spam irrelevant links. You'll be treated as a human then.

Other than Joo and Koji, I would also highlight Ma Te... CNT players Ma Te regularly plays against and some of his points makes you wonder whether he's even from this planet.
