Bravo for Manika's play in this match. It's fascinating how effectively she blocked once again and how much underspin the ball had after her blocks. The blocks were really low. Her opponent seemed quite unsure when returning such shots. Many ended up in the net, whether she attempted to continue with spin or tried to push the ball.
She sometimes blocks very high with a small reversal, sometimes very low and short with a big reversal. In this match, she did it perfectly, blocking short and low with plenty of underspin rotation.

The statistics are interesting too ... I watched the entire match and kept count. In the first set, the opponent made 8 direct errors after receiving the ball from Manika's red LP rubber, in the second set 5, and in the third set also 5. In total, out of 33 points, Manika won 18 points with her LP rubber.

Manika win with her techniques & perfomance, material only helps more or less her.

I didn't remember how many I have to show my bat with pips...

Pips are a lot of more complicate to play than inverted, if you use the most dangerous pips available at the market.

People is confused thinking with pips is a easy win & nothing more away than reality. Strange but people doesn't think the same about inverted.

If I didn't suffer 15 years ago a motorcycle accident for sure will play with two inverted.... My point of view is if you can move fast & doesn't use two inverted you are giving an advantage to the other, hey that's my point of view only!

!

I have heard this before but don't follow "material" or "material players" .
What does it exactly mean ?

I think when they say "material," they just mean rubber that is not regular inverted.

In Spain we say: "No le busques tres pies al gato" (don't look for the cat's three feet. It is used to give advice to those who, on their own, seek to complicate their lives) I think the meaning of "material" is very clear, you just have to replace "material" with "equipment".

Manika should either stop using useless D.tchs or a Viscaria .

The blocks sailing long past the table - scandalously long, mind you - are numerous at Lagos and to be honest her Fh is not at the same level of her BH .

Those who claimed she had soft hands to block so short at Incheon will not be able to explain what happened in this match .

Clearly , she changed her equipment again and has not been able to block short since . I have nothing against her , just commenting so we can have a chat here in the forum .

Obviously , the combination Viscaria + D.techs is not profitable enough .

BTW. Manika's match is the 4th one in the video clip .

She got tricked like an amateur on her BH. Long dead serve and than fast ball .....
She made to many mistakes and I have never seen her hit so much over the table.

Equipment issue? Not sure. I think she uses this frame for a bit already? And the d.tecs pips as long as I know her. Normal she can drop even fast balls just behind the net.
I am always surprised how she can do this but I can't :D. I have to use slower pips.

Could be Thibar give her special Grass DTecs that you can't buy????

As per I can see at the video still using Viscaria that seems not go very well for her.

i would not be so quick to blame the equipment. Badawy played a more strategic game, by serving and playing more into the forehand, and trying to keep the rallies shorter. It was a win or lose strategy that paid off this time.

Manika won better players, I don't agree about good strategy of Badawy.

Do somebody knows the forehand rubber. It's definitively no BTY-rubber. The spong is white and I suppose a Tibhar-rubber. At Saudi Smash vs Mittelham we can watch her black rubber very well: https://youtu.be/6CyJup76RbY?si=Ly5qsapGR3OHisGp
