If anyone understand Japanese, please translate/read comments... I am sure everyone would love to know whether that's short/medium pips she's using, her blade, etc.

Enjoy!

Watched it today too.
I think she plays with both inverted rubbers, but not sure :)

I think I have seen her before in videos from some competition. Inverted on BH for sure. And it looks like inverted on FH as well, not sure. Really cool style.

福岡さんのお父さんのブログによると、ラケットがダーカーのスプラインD2、フォア面がテナジー05hard、バック面がテナジー05(1.9mm )だそうです。スピン系テンションラバーで、こんなにカットを低く返していて凄いですよね!

According to Fukuoka's father's blog, the racket is Darker Spline D2, the fore side is Tenergy 05hard, and the back side is Tenergy 05 (1.9mm). With a spin-based tension rubber, it is amazing to return such a low cut!

According to a poster on another forum:

that is Noa Fukuoka. She's a double inverted chopper. She uses Darker Spline N2, Tenergy 05 and Rasanter R42.

If someone can confirm the name, I will update the title and equipment

Yeah, her control is unbelievable, especially knowing that she plays tenergy / tenergy hard -- both fast offensive rubbers, even in thinner thickness.

Her blade (D2) seems to be discontinued.

Any idea if the Rasanter is on the FH or BH?

I posted this without reading the comment above. I tend to believe her father than some random guy on the web. If he says she's using T05H/T05 ... so that's what I put as her equipment. She probably used to play with Rasanter at some point, and if so -- R42 was very likely her BH rubber.

Very interesting and unique style. Starts always chopping and then attacks a lot from her backhand side thanks to the inverted rubber.
Also the variation she manages to get with her backhand is really interesting, Kenta had hard times with it

In the comments section of the YT video, someone mentioned she updated her equipment to:

Blade: DIODE V
FH: Dignics 05 (2.1mm)
BH: Tenergy 19(1.9mm)

No idea if it's accurate or not.

Aha.. someone actually using the new Tenergy 19.

https://tabletennis.guide/profile.php?n ... oka-144744

Apparently she doesn't have an International rating yet, she was born in 2002 and would be 19 this year. She played in 2019 (in a Junior tournament - she would have been 16 or 17 then) but nothing after that (probably due to COVID). She's got a really good backhand block/hit which she uses often (if you loop to her backhand, she's as likely to attack it rather than chop), and she's got a quasi-strawberry which she often uses instead of a backhand push.

Who is she playing against (the guy who posted the video)? Looks like his name is Kenta, he doesn't look like Matsudaira Kenta (who would be totally out of her league, I think).

Iskandar
