Hi everyone, I have talked with Yuto on Instagram and he told me that he has switched to TSP Spectol 1.5 mm . Can the initial message in the discussion be edited?

what about his forehand? Tenergy?

I suggest you to write to him on his Instagram account. Usually the info you find online is not updated.

Do you know where he's playing currently? I haven't seen him in the new season of Japanese T-League, neither sitting on the bench.

He is still listed as a member of Asteeda team in T-League. And he is also a member of Tokyo Art team in JTTL (JAPAN TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE, anther table tennis league in Japan with a long history).

JTTL 2020's regular season was finished in Nov, and Tokyo Art won the second place. Yuto Muramatsu hadn't played any match but sit on the bench.
There will be a Finial 4 series for JTTL 2020 in Dec. Will see if he will play.

Wow, didn't even know of the existence of this league, anyway I find kind of weird that a promising player like him isn't playing any important match recently, I mean he was the runner up of the 2014 Youth Olympics both in singles and in mixed doubles, he also defeated very strong players and now he's playing no matches basically.

I think he is still active but maybe not in a good state for team's game.
Another upcoming event for him is the All Japan Table Tennis Championships 2021 (in Jan). He is listed as a "Super Seed" in men's singles.

Why? I mean in the last season he has beaten both Koki Niwa and Wong Wong Chung Ting, both in the top 20 of ittf rankings and had a really close match with Kenta Matsudaira.

Shunsuke Okano (岡野俊介) 1 - 4 Yuto Muramatsu
Maharu Yoshimura 4 - 0 Yuto Muramatsu

I don't see the video for these 2 matches. I will post here if found any.

Looks like Yuto has played again in the Japanese League, winning a match. I don't have any information about the opponent, but I have seen a video from Instagram

Only a couple points of Muramatsu's match, starting at 1:07. Interestingly, he's started introducing a pips smash on his backhand side, rather than twiddling & attacking with inverted. Perhaps that's the advantage of using spectol over SSPC2?

I don't think he expected the receive to be high/spinless, so he didn't have time to twiddle. He did that also in the match with Koki Niwa one year ago. Certainly the increased sponge (1.5 mm) allows to have more power.

I started using SSPC2 myself with a faster blade compared to Muramatsu one and I also attack sometimes without twiddling, but the ball is quite slow
