Wow i missed this!
I have to say, good tactics from Luka vs defence (expecially good strategic FH), but i really didn't expect Gionis to be so unprepared vs slick anti. It's true there are really few players playing such style, but from an experienced pro like him (who has also played before "pimple ban" era) i didn't expect so many easy mistakes :^)

Well, it was close + having not experienced that style for years might explain the mistakes.

Insane backspin on Luka's blocks with Flanti and very good twiddling too to mix things up even further  He played well but Sathyan adjusted well too after losing the first two games to eventually go on and win. Great play from both and thanks for sharing.

It seems he plays with Dr Neubauer ABS 2.To end all the hate against anti spin or pips , just realize how many points he gets with the anti,... the percentage is very little,..that's why, maybe the ITTF is not so worried about Frictionless antis, let alone the little profitable pips  ,.....

.....any Igor's hate and controversy against any defensive style is a joke for the ITTF ,....

As long as no one gets i to top 100 with frictionless anti I think it will be ok. But if there starts comming complaints from some good players or from some top contries, they may apply a friction limit to them. Then antis like SuperGlanti and ABS2 will not be allowed.

I agree with you 100%.It also means that the cause of the restraints on the defensive play comes from the players themselves,....... so the ITTF is not only responsible for this but also those who complain about the effectiveness of this kind of rubbers ..... my prediction is the following : when a top anti player has a fh loop like Ma Long´s consistently and starts beating high ranked players,..then, we wil have new regulations again, ..... they will try to convince us that the anti world is damaging the sport, etc,.... but maybe manufacturers will have something to say this time ,...

Only way manufacturers would have something to say about it is if Butterfly or similar would get in the ring and fight on the dark side :). Small companies like Neubauer, DMS, Spinlord will have nothing to put up against ITTF if they decide to implement rules for friction on Glanits.
