well too good for him. Wang is near of the top 100 players of the world if i'm not wrong. The chop take 2 or 3 hit before wang is having returning it. Almost no push return from wang after the defender chop !!!

Westchester 2017 October Open final vs. Jeremy Hazin:

much better game. More consistant with the counter attack and his bump.

Hazin is a junior in province of quebec Canada. Player rising among top 50. Didn't have the occasion to play against him.

Compared to the one against Eugene Wang? Not a big surprise, since Jeremy is ~2530 and Eugene is ~2800, so it's easy to look bad against a better player and vice versa.

By the way, I saw him playing a low level guy in Open RR and you could see how he was pretty much changing gears when he needed to: ramping up serve difficulty, FH aggressiveness etc. Last game in the match he was mostly chop-blocking at the table with pips, just because he felt like it...

I think that at this level, players has plan a,b,c ...

So LI found that hazin was making too high arc loop against his chop that he can attack them easily afterward specially with his chinese loop type. Unfortunately for hazin who have short experience doesn't seem to have the loop of eugene Wang. Doesn't seems to have a drop shot ball either to change the dynamic of LI. Or to vary the serves or the placement of his ball to destabilise LI

hi everyone, i'm new to OOAK forum and new to the LP game play. I was into LP just around 2-3 months Currently, i'm using Dawei 388D-1 OX on BH and 729 Battle II on the FH (previously, it was H3 Provincial Orange Sponge). Jian Li is a great influence on my playing style lately. His style of play is very interesting and lucky for me i can find complete compilation of his games at OOAK. I also order a DHS CnF 3 and 0.5mm sponge for it, just in case i wanna cange in the future.

Haven't got my self a proper defensive blade, i tested a few blades in order to find "the comfortable feel" for LP.
First, i tested on a local custom blade (Indonesia) with "koto-koto-SZLC-hard balsa-cork-soft balsa structure. Felt good, the LP was controllable but i lost the spin feel on the H3. Fortunately, compensated with a better blocking game.
Second, my regularly played blade which i usually play with inverted rubbers on both side, Yinhe Pro 437. The LP is hard to control, seemed the trajectory is lowering and too bouncy. So i changed.
The third and today i felt good using Butterfly Liu Shiwen and finally i feel complete :rofl:
i can feel both inverted and the LP.

May i ask a few question?
1. If i stick a 0.5mm sponge to a long pips OX, what will change (significantly)?

2. The way i see from video, modern defender play their LP (on BH) by far from the table. I rarely see them defend close to the table (either block/push-block/side-swipe, etc.). Coz i get confused when got trained by senior players in my club, felt a "culture shock" :?: and distress. I feel comfortable to play far from table though i know my skill is far from adequate. Any insight or enlightment?

I hope i don't post in the wrong room, and if did i'll just move to the other.

Long Pips OX is easier to play close to the table vs away from the table. OX has more spin reversal than .5. It is easier to learn a 4H playing close to the table. Some good reading is the lengthy introduction at North Little Rock Table Tennis Group timeline page on Facebook.
