Any idea why she changed to SSPC II?

One of the reasons (according to the Swedish commentator) is that she wants to be able to attack better with the BH. She works quite closely with Japsko and I can only assume that it was Marcus Sjöberg’s idea. He has worked with a lot of other pimple players (for example Åkerström) so he knows his stuff.

Bonus video of one of her first multi ball sessions with SP:

Yes, but unevitably her defense will suffer like can be seen in the game against Källberg. Why just not twiddle at the right moment?

I agree but I assume that her coach (and TSP entourage) knows her better than us. I think that she will develop a lot in the coming months as she’s switching club to Söderhamn which can offer the best sparring in Sweden (Jon Persson, Hampus Nordberg, Jens Lundqvist and a lot of cadets as this is our main TT boarding school).

She did have a number of 'short pip jams' where Linda didn't manage to back up quick enough, and the resulting chop overshot the table due to the incoming spin. Long pips could counter this easier, but you can also learn to do the downward angled chop-block kind of hit against those. If she just swapped recently, then you have to expect some of these errors (from memory muscle alone) -- I am happy to see her give it a try!

Maybe she will have an answer for the question of 'is spin variation and some more attack potential worth the less consistent returns from LP'? I think it's been shown in the women's game that a pro level short pip chopper is quite feasible. Maybe never a champion in today's game, though you don't see any long pip chopping champions either. The two medium pip girls from japan are about as close as it gets now.

Victas 401 is the permanent covering on Linda's forhand.
