Post subject:  New training video

I've ordered a cool looking new 16-DVD tt training video. Unfortunately it's all in Chinese, but even so it could be quite useful. I'll write something up on it when it comes in.

Congratz dude

I think I saw the website once that sold that DVD (and there's some youtube video off it as well) and was tempted...though a lot of the DVDs cover penholder which turned me off.

Would be fascinated to hear your report in due course.

Cheers
PK

Might you guys be able to point out the website and the Youtube link so I can view them, too?

Most interesting for me as there's Deng Yaping and Wang Tao...

Incidentally, for all you blade spotters out there, that's a Primorac Carbon.

Funny, I was looking at this DVD yesterday, but after finding out that they are all attacking strokes, NOT one defensive/chopping (LP type), I moved on.

Will wait for your assessments, thanks.

Hey, two full disks of choppers, lp,sp probably even some one color anti on older footage plus Deng Yaping with lp attack.

I'll stick to free vids of current players myself but to say 'no lp' looks quite incorrect.

May be I read too fast, all I saw the contents were attack, attacks and attacking strokes. I will consider the DVD if they do have these LP defensive and attacking strokes that you mentioned.

Thanks.

Discs 14 and 15 have some of the best choppers (male and female) who ever played the game.

Are they actually teaching their strokes or just showing us videos of their matches?

Well, it's supposed to be a training video with all these great players. If it's just a bunch old 38mm ball footage it would be very disappointing.

So, has anybody watched these DVDs?

Post subject:  Re: New training video

I finally got this set in today. It looks like a mixture of different match highlights put together from various sources. I looked at two disks, (Deng Yaping and Ding Song) which show various illustrative points from their playing days in real speed, and again in slow motion while an announcer explains things in Chinese. What I saw was all 38mm ball stuff, illegal serves, etc. Overall I don't find this set too useful, although there was one type of block that Deng Yaping does that impressed me. If I can add that into my repertoire I'll be happy. Save your money on this one. The Seemiller video is still the one to buy.
