Believe it or not, it is possible. At least for this elder Japanese gentleman. Looks a bit odd, but he makes it work :)

I guess if one can hit and loop with RPB, then one can chop with it too.

Doesn't even look that odd IMO...he handles it well!

OK, no more excuses then, this gentleman has thrown down the gauntlet to all you old school conservative choppers; time to step up to the challenge and change to penhold! After all, if a 70-ish year old Japanese gentleman can do it, surely you young bucks can too, ehehe ;)

I once played a match against a youngish japanese player who played a traditional chinese penhold game, but used the reverse side inverted to chop when forced to play defense on the backhand. It wasn't all that often but his chops were pretty smooth. He never attacked with the back side, it was only for chopping. I barely beat him in five, he beat both of my teammates.

I know it's hard to believe but I can do it without any difficulty. Maybe not as good as this old guy did but I'm pretty good at it.

It looks like very difficult but if you try it you will see that it's not that difficult.

I tried it and it was extremely difficult for me. I also find rpb looping extremely unnatural. Maybe this is related to how easy it is for me to use my grip; a basic physical difference.
