I have no idea. Got mine from tt11 just 2 or 3 months ago, and it appears to have the old sponge.

I just got a sheet, I'll try to look when I get back home and see what color the sponge is on my new 1.5 mm sheet. I also have a still new in the package 1.8 mm sheet I got earlier this year, so I'll check that one also. I'm at work right now.

Could be that TT11 has sheets that have been in inventory for a while? Maybe that is why their sheets still have the old sponge? If it has changed that is disappointing. :@ I was actually hoping they would put the new sponges from Orkan under Keiler.

Table Tennis 11

The sponge color has changed, Mine from 2016 were yellow, mine from March 2018 are orange. The one I just received is darker orange. I have not had a chance to hit with the 2 newer sheets yet.

Yellow sponge is from either 2015 or 2016.
Orange sponge is from March 2018.
Darker Orange is from December 2018.

All were purchased from Table Tennis 11.

Thanks for the photos!
Can you feel any difference in hardness between those 3 sponges?

Tested a new 1.5 mm orange sponge Keeler last night. Yes, the new sponge seems to me to just be a typical hard Chinese orange sponge, if that was what I wanted I'd be playing with 563. Banana flip is gone, just wasn't effective as the resulting ball had nothing to make it challenging for my opponents. On the plus side, the short push is improved (after I missed 20 or so in the net), slow helped here. :@ What happened to the boosted feel of the yellow sponge, I scored more points because the ball was slow than from the disruption of the medium pips, my local opponents were used to the quicker pace from the yellow sponge.

I will give it a couple more sessions and see if the sponge breaks in like typical Chinese orange sponges, then it looks like I will be in EJ mode again. This is so very different to the yellow sponge. :headbang: I will also mount the 1.8 mm sheet I bought last spring and see if it feels the same at some point.

Maybe what I need to do is order a OX sheet and add a sponge from Cole, he has a nice bouncy yellow sponge I think. I wonder how easy it is to get the topsheet off of Keiler? Anyone tried this?

Thanks for confirming it wasn't my imagination or lousy technique. It really does not play like Keiler with the new sponge no dwell and no nasty effect.

I have never played with yellow sponge keiler so I dont know the difference. But can someone say what is the difference between orange and darker orange sponges? Are they similar with each other?

Maybe their Chinese supplier just changed it without a proper verification process of its playing properties.

:headbang: Really. I'm beginning to lose confidence in their quality control processes. Did you point them to this thread? Would be interesting to see how they react to the pictures, and comments that have been posted here. I'm still hoping it will play better after it had some time to break in.

So I guess orange is the new yellow. Or maybe it was orange all along and the old sponges faded over time!

Back to being serious. I have multiple sheets from November 2015-2016 from 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 1.8, to 2.0 mm and all were yellow.

My new sheets from 2018 are Orange (1.8 mm) and Dark Orange (1.5 mm).

Don't discount the possibility of counterfeit products, especially if not purchased from an authorized dealer. Websites like aliexpress, ebay, and amazon are rife with counterfeit products of all types.

As I wrote in the Waran thread:
The boss from spinlord confirmed on the german forum noppen-test.de, that the waran sponge has only changed in colour.

Greetings Claus
