I've only seen 563 with a white sponge.... I've purchased one and seen it on 2 other rackets...and it's always been white.

I'm not. But I'm at Level 37 nonetheless...

I suppose it's a good thing we're not discussing Kokutaku 868... buying all of THOSE would involve major outlay of money - not to mention the time it would take to test them all.

Incidentally - anyone know why all of 729's bare topsheets have a bald eagle on the packaging?

As I said.. buy 'em all - there aren't that many to buy and they're not expensive. And then tell US the difference.

I have bought and tried almost all the 563 variants.. Mystery I, Mystery III, German sponge, and Zeropong "special soft" 35* white sponge; 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 1.8mm, and 2.0mm. Whew!

Not much difference between MI and MIII. ZP's sponge is indeed softer and faster than the Chinese sponges. 2.0mm plays somewhat like inverted but I broke pips on my red sheet in short order trying to loop. 1.2mm has profound sink on flat-hit balls. All are difficult to master.. significantly moreso than LP, which is why MPs are the least popular of the pips out trio (SP, MP, LP).

Interesting... I find LP is hardest, SP easiest though too plain unless in very skillful hand.

I don’t know anything about 563 other than the on I tried was for me unplayable.
But the super special zeropong sponge is white, soft and springy. The orange sponge is the oem version and cheaper on zeropong. It’s harder and dead.

Ok. Thanks. Maybe I order one 563 from japsko. They put different sponges how you like.

Hmm... now, if we're talking custom sponge/topsheet combos then buying everything is going to get a great deal more expensive  And finding reviews of any particular combination will be even more difficult, since the chances that many people have tried any given combination will be lower. So choose one or two that you think might work, and buy them! And tell us about it afterwards.
