As we know there are different oppinons about soft and hard blades in inverted rubbers. Some think soft flexible blade and hard rubber is best and some think hard rigid blade with softer rubbers are best. So what do you think about that with medium pimples? I have seen that medium pimples acts very differently with different blades.

The blade definitely needs to be reasonably stiff, but as to hardness my experience so far is that with thin sponge e.g. 1.0mm or 1.2mm then a softer blade may be best to help slowing down the ball on blocks, whilst for thick sponge a harder blade is best to avoid a mushy feel.

hard blade make usually better reversal but harder to control. Heavy stiff blade are good far from the table for classic shop. I have a phenomenon neubauer blade. Softer than my prior one, the Wallfire Plus neubauer ( balsa) A bit slower but the control is just fanntastic. Top spin for FH and backspin, block, counter, placement are more easy to do. Fast enough to still be dangerous. If you like changing the pace it is a very good weapon. fast and long then short and slow. right to left etc...

There was special price for DMS spinhunter blade 19.90 eur.I Ordered it. I have never had carbon blade before. Do you guys have any info how it would work with medium pimples?
With blades I prefer rigid blade with some softness also. If its too hard then its not so good for my FH.

Tempted to try either the new Sauer & Troga Black & White or Dr Neubauer Bloodhound blades which is sort of a slightly slower lighter Phenomenon. Both have carbon layers but I believe not too hard in feel and are supposed to be good at low blocking with pips on the backhand side.

Moin,

my blade for medium pips on backhand and short pips on forehand is
TSP Reflex award 50 off.

It is an all wood blade with hard outer layers.
Speed ist IMHO off-

I try to play like Miao Miao from australia (watch on youtube), who plays the same blade.

Good speed, excellent control.

Greetings Claus

I think everyone is try to help you but we need to know your type of playing. Near the table with conter, block push or far from the table with classic chop. About the foerehand? Near the table, block, push, counter top spin loop or drive. Describe your type of player.

Yes and you have allready helped me a alot. Here in Finland TT in very little sport. Only few guys who know about medium pimples. Im quite beginner in this game, only 4 years played. I play 5 times in a week and its quite alot for 50 years old fat man.
Playing style is allround near the table with conter, block push, smash. I like to block angles/placements and change tha pace. Im not so quick with my feet so I dont play far away from the table. Forehand I dont make crazy loops. I spin little bit and flat hit also. Placements are my favorites. I try to open from backspin with both sides.
I would like to play little more offensively in a games but somehow I always start pushing in a games.

Then go for between an allround blade to off-. Too fast blade will make you loose your control. You can change in a year if you advance a lot. Don't get tempted by fast blade with carbon. They will not serves you right. Don't worry at the speed as from your data if you put your ball more on the table with placement opponents will have a lot of problems. I got maybe 30% more ball on the table since i changed for a more control blade. Maybe 5% of the. Strong opponents return more my ball. Finally i increase my victory matches by 20%

Internet has all the info o. The speed, control and spin of each and the general type blade.

P.s pushing too much is a sign that you don't have confidence enough on you offense shot. Blade with more control will help to give that level of confidence.

That has been my problem. I have had OFF blades also. Then I changed to all+ blade and its much more easier to play. Now I ordered that Spinhunter blade and wanna try that. Its All+ 5 layers wood and 2 carbon layers. Its made for pimples and antis but you never know before you try. Thinking if it makes more disturpion with pimples?

I look in the internet and found a heavy blade at 88 gram. It seem to work well for reversal also and anti. I don,t know but I have a bad feeling for a beginner to use that. If you bought it already just wait for the result you will see. If its not bought yet, go to different site of store and get the allround blades and found one that is all around and that is good for evrything. Not specialised in anti or LP etc. Mp are a changing pace game strategy. Fast than slow, righ to left etc. Allround blade will get you started and learn the rope.

Just ordered a Sauer & Troga Black & White as it is designed for pimples on the backhand having extra veneers on that side to provide improved blocking. Agree that all to all+ is plenty fast enough for medium pips on the backhand with today's fast rubbers just make sure that blade is stiff but not hard.

This is a summary from TT maximum.com:

Blade: Spinhunter (all), wallfire plus ( all+), Phenomenon (all), and Black & white ( all +)

Speed: Spin>WP>B&W=Phenom

Control: Phenom=WP>B&w>Spin

This is their test as I found Wallfire plus more difficult to control than phenomenon.

The phenomenon is if course a combination blade the backhand side being designed to give more control when blocking. The FH side is the one with the logo in the handle. It is the only blade I have tested that made blocking with Waran easy. Also having no catapult and being fairly stiff but still good dwell I found attacking with accurate ball placement was easy compared to more flexible or bouncy blades I have used.
