hello

Until now I have been playing with TSP Curl p1r 0.5 in a wood like Butterfly Defense Pro. I have tried the Victas Curl p1V but it is very different from the TSP and I don't like it, I have tried other long pips with friction but I didn't like them. For this reason I have decided to change the strategy and use long pips OX with less friction ). I guess I want medium friction) and play closer to the table. My idea is to chop and push, I don't attack with pips. My game is based on the forehand (tenergy 05() to win points. I have the backhand as support to seek the initiative with the forehand

I have decided to use a reduced (166 x 155) Nittaku Shake Defense (2010) but now I have doubts about which long pips OX to use that would fit this blade. At first I thought about the following long pips OX:

- Donic Piranja
- DMS LSD Extra Long
- DMS Kamikaze
- Barna Legend Log
- Hallmark Tactics
- Hallmark Friction Spezial 2
- Hallmark Frustration
- Giant Dragon Talon
- ST Hellfire X
- Dawei 388-D1

I would appreciate recommendations.

regards

Have you tried Tibhar Dtecs ox? It's one of the few that works well close-in, but also chops really well returning heavy backspin. Although it's more expensive than some of the ones you mentioned, it's also one of the most durable.

Regarding the size of the sheet, German or Japanese made sheets are usually bigger, If you blade width is 155, they should all cover this, and if the sheet is not quite tall enough, you can just glue it up a little higher, leaving a small gap above the handle (which is legal).

The NSD pairs well with most ox long pimples. From your list I have tried the Hellfire X, Tactics, Piranja and the 388d-1 all on the NSD. They all work reasonably well but slow. The Hellfire X was probably the best of the above mentioned pips but TBH i felt they were all a bit average.

Haggisv's suggestion of D'tecs is a good idea. D'tecs works well to chop and push over the table. I personally find Spinlord pimples to be good for a versatile game. Dornenglanz, Leviathan 1a (not premium version), Hai and Feuerstick can all be used for a chopping and pushing game quite successfully. If you just want to chop and push start out with Dornenglanz or D'tecs. Dornenglanz has better control then D'tecs but has poor durability and pips start to fall out after about 1-2 months depending how active you are with your shots. On the other hand D'tecs is highly durable.

The NSD is quite a slow blade, around the ALL minus to All plus range. You may find you have difficulty finishing points in a countering hitting or counter looping rally due to the speed of this blade. On the other hand, its slowish speed makes for great control for pimples blocking, chop blocking and pushing close to the table.

Thanks for your recommendations.

I thought that Kamikaze, Tactics and Grass Dtecs were peaks with very similar characteristics, almost clones.

I haven't used Kamikaze so i cant comment on it but i have used Tactics and D'tecs. Tactics and D'tecs are very different long pimples.

Control: Tactics > D'tecs
Grip: Tactics > D'tecs
Spin sensitivity: Tactics > D'tecs
Hitting: Tactics > D'tecs
Chopping (adding spin) Tactics > D'tecs
Spin reversal: D'tecs > Tactics
Speed: D'tecs > Tactics
Dampening effect: D'tecs >Tactics
Pimple effect: D'tecs > Tactics
Lifting backspin: D'tecs > Tactics

I personally found D'tecs to be a much better rubber then Tactics, but i still think long pimples such as Dornenglanz and Feuerstick are better for an all round long pimple game where the full range of long pimple shots are used.

you might find some of the Geblock TT you tube reviews useful as most of the long pips reviews are done in OX on the NSD.
